    Post What happens if...

What happens if one of your ability stats (e.g. strength) is reduced to zero? can that person still fight or cast spells?

I'm asking because I want alternative options to damaging baddies should they have alot of spell resistances.. seems the next best thing would be to reduce THEIR effectiveness in battle, then I could just let the tanks deal with them... For example, I could cast ray of exhaustion followed by enervation. neither spell has a saving throw and I believe the two spells would stack with each other (please correct me if I'm wrong).

So I nail the baddie with str damage followed by 1d4 negative levels.. Would this be a good combination? What are some alternative options when our damaging spells are working? All feedback is welcome. Thanks.

I'm the best there is at what I do. But what I do, isn't very nice..

If any stat besides CON goes to zero you become helpless, can't cast spells, can't drink potions, etc.

Most boss mobs (orange/red/purple names) are immune to stat damage (in case that changes the reason you want to do this...)
    Code:
Sil - Human Paladin 14 Lava Divers Tad - Drow Wizard 14
     Semolina - Elf Rog 13/Ftr 1 on Rava - Drow Sorceror 7
Riddikulus - Human Cleric 14 Khyber Clamor - Warforged Barb 7
     Durum - Dwarf Ftr 10/Pal 3/Rng 1 Ridd - Dwarf Ftr 6/Rog 2/Pal 2

Orange are not immune to Stat Damage. Just red/Purple.

Reducing a Mobs Con to 0 Kills them.

Reducing a Mobs STR or DEX to 0 Make any hit an Auto Crit, but they can still move and attack normally. Including casting spells.

Reduce a Mobs Primary Casting ability to 1 renders them unable to Cast.

Ah different between players and mobs... nice.
    Code:

     Semolina - Elf Rog 13/Ftr 1 on Rava - Drow Sorceror 7

Debuffing was most useful in PNP as a way of dealing with big-bad end guys. Can't touch the evil villain because of his amazing saves? Start slowing bring him down to Earth. Unfortunately, it's not often possible in DDO.

I think it's a rather inefficient strategy for your typical monsters. Nearly always as easy to simply kill or disable them directly.

So you cant even use enervate on end bosses?? I dont agree with that at all... if we can bypass their spell resistance, then we should be able to hit since enervate has no saving throw..

Can you suggest any good 'debuffing' spells that WILL work on on end bosses?
