I don't contribute much to the forums but had an idea that the dev's may want to explore. What about creating a new server that is just a PVP site. Every toon from any server would have access to it, only to PVP, no questing.

The idea came to me because of the server race to get access to the new raids. Some servers got very gung-ho about it and organized teams to race through raids to gather the necessary tokens to win the race. Then, after they beat us, spent alot of time coming to our server forum to rub our nose in it. Seems that competition between servers could add an interesting spark to the game.

Wouldn't it be nice to meet some of these guys in pvp combat? Team challenges? Server challenges? Would be interesting to see if some of the wordsmiths from the other servers that troll over here have any combat skills to back up their verbal machismo.

We could call it the gall (gaul?) server in honor of the greatest troll to ever come over here and spread hate, dissent and pointlessness to our forums.

I'd definitely have the gall to meet these gaules in a good trouncing.... moves his hand in front of his face, moving up and down, left right, then ripping his hand away and jerking his head in the opposite direction, hissing... face....

...and now those servers can sit around and complain about nothing to do for 3 months. This was a very small update...there was no rush. I know on Argo most of us figured why bother rushing to win a competition none of us wanted...theres no point. We raid constantly anyway. I know of all my capped toons, and of the 25 or so deleted capped toons, I have no need for raid loot....from any raid. Perhaps next time Turbine will explore what the servers might want a competition based around....because that didnt do it for us on Argo. We know how much better our server is, many of us venture onto the other servers to get a break from the high end grind...things are a little slower elsewhere...if you get my drift.

I know on Argo most of us figured why bother rushing to win a competition none of us wanted...theres no point. We raid constantly anyway. Turbine's problem is that they try to create events that appeal to everyone, and then always fail partially because a large section of the population doesn't care for it. The anniversary was an RP event, but many just wanted a mindless invasion, this event was all about being first, something the argo server could care less about. To be honest I could care less if Thelanis think they are better than us, I just look at their forums and it is obvious they are in constant self destruct mode, and that non exploiters seem to be at constant warfare with those who find it ok. Hear we just like to beat each other up a bit, but most of the large guilds have respect for each other and constantly play with each other.
Does our server do nothing but raiding non stop, no and I am happy with that, because there is only so many ways you can do these quests before you are bored to death of them. Thats why the contest was a non starter for argo, most of those who raid already have all the raid loot they need on multiple characters, so why go back and grind old quests, we didn't see it as a challenge, we saw it as an annoyance and an obstacle to the mew stuff we would rather play and pay mointhly to get.

I think the competition was a great idea. Simple and different. Argo chose not to participate and Thelanis and Ghallanda did. So what, ignore the e-peen waving trolls and go back to playing the game the way that is fun for you. I agree with the posts that I will be bored of the new content long before the next mod, so I think the wait is fine.

I would be in favor of some kind of cross server battles, even if I have to upload my character.

Larger PVP always ends up in nerfs as you get the "casters are one shotting my fighter" or "fighter's are oneshotting my caster" and so on. So beware what you ask for...
