    Default update, examine.

    so i just bought ddo and start the program and get the first update.
    i restart the launcher and i pass the program update but not the examine game data where it only stands on retry and right below it the launcher says: an update error occured:
    cannot find core data file, installation may be corrupted.
    or an uptade error occured:
    cannot find language file, installation may be corrupted.

    i looked up in the support side of ddo and tried the diffrent solutions but neither worked out my problem anyone have a single idea?

    What solutions did you try? What os are you on?

    Try making a new windows user account and playing.

    al that was posted in the online support section, i searched for: cannot find core data file(and language file), installation might be corrupted

    could you get a load for game data that is completely re instating what already exists?
    like a patch for the game but that consists of only game data?

    please try the following before launching the game to see if it resolves the issue:

    You may experience a temporary loss of some services functionality when you follow these steps. When you restore the settings, the functionality will be restored. However, the original error message or behavior may return.

    1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue
    2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup
    3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box
    4. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All
    5. Click OK, and then click Restart

    Once this is done please launch the game and try playing.

    Did you try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

    yes 2 times i deleted folders and uninstalled etc.

    If you are still getting these errors:

    cannot find core data file, installation may be corrupted.
    or an uptade error occured:
    cannot find language file, installation may be corrupted.

    run a defrag and scan disk on your computer.

    this is the exact same error problem im having, ill try the defrag, but i have ininstalled the game twice and did new dl twice now, at 5-6hrs dl time this is not easy, and to thing us eu customers thought we got the bad service:P

    anyway, i hope i can get this fixed

    Default Update Game Data

    Just purchased this Game, can't start it up at all.
    Stops in various state mainly at "Update Game Data" or "Applying "
    Never got over 100 update and there is 11000+ needed.

    WAF is this, I can't believe paid money for this junk.

    Don't bother to ask me to reinstall, done it already, no help, my internet connection is on and stable.
    Even when the download stops my IE work fine, got Broadband 10M High Speed.
    IS there a place where I can just download the update myself ?

    If you download the trial version, you should have fewer updates necessary than the version on the retail disk. No idea if you'll still have the problem with trying to update though, but it won't hurt to try.

    Szabyguy your issue is not the same. If you are experiencing issues updating please make sure that if you have a firewall you have added exceptions for DDO to it (turbinelauncher.exe and dndclient.exe - on vista also add turbineinvoker.exe)

    Pugar,

    Did you try to re-download the game client? It's possible some files corrupted during the download. If that's the case you'll need to download the whole client again otherwise you'll keep getting corrupted file errors when you try to install.
