Handwraps? ... Where? How?

I have just built a brand new Monk. He can hit things with his hands, great! But, if he has something in his hands, like a Shuriken for ranged enemies, how does he convert to empty handed for close combat? (This feels like a throwback to Ranger dual-wielding to me.)

Is there a way to put 'Nothing' in a weapon equip slot and have it really mean 'Nothing!'?

If Handwraps are the answer, then where can I acquire some? I ran all about the lowbie area, and no one was selling.

You should start with starter handwraps, and you can find them as quest rewards. I saw a lot of generic "handwraps" as the rewards for the Goodblade quests (er, the guy whose outside the inn you start at, I think that's his name)

Ive done this before.............. as I remember it, I took a blank placeholder from my weapons set bar and placed it on one of my hotbars. when I wanted my hands empty I just clicked it and walla.

I may be missing 1 step in the process , not sure but try it out and when I get home I'll try it and update my post.

Yup, pull up and empty (green square) weapon set to your hot bar & vola empty hands.

I got +1 handwraps as a reward for a solo goodblade quest. As for buying them, I am sure some will start to appear in the auction as many people's monks shoot up in level.
