Is a Vorpal Handaxe of PG = +5 Mithral Full Plate?

I have been in game now for 27 months...

And I have yet to pull a +5 Mithral Full Plate.


Bu tI did pull a +1 Vorpal Hand Axe of Pure Good the other day..

Are the values similar or is one worth much more.


I am aware that it is dependent on supply demand, need vs want etc....

I want Mithral Full Plate. I have a finess-able Vorpal.


My gut tells me that the Hand axe is worth more. I have a 8th level TWF hafling fighter that would/could use this axe to GREAT effect when he levels to 12.

It was a good day when I pull the vorpal handaxe.. about 2 hours before I pulled a +1 Paralyzing Composite Long Bow, which I really enjoy.

It's a fair trade if you really want a set of +5 MFP.

Hand Axe is worth more... You can buy +5 MFP on the AH for ~400k Plat.. that hand axe seeing as it's a finessible vorpal of PG could easily go for 1 mill plat.. consider the trade stronger in your direction.

IMHO I'd give you 3 sets of MFP (or 1 set of +5 Fearsome Mithral Full Plate) for that ¬.¬

Not to mention.. I believe monks can remain centered while using handaxes.. that makes it even more valuable!

Personally, I'd consider the +5 MFP to be worth more.

The vorpal is a one-handed finessable vorpal (the best type), but has a downright useless kicker (Pure Good does nothing on the foes you would ever use a vorpal on except generate more aggro on you - assuming you use the Vorp only on 4000 HP Shroud/Subterrane Orthons, 2500HP Shroud/Subterrane Bearded Devils and high-regen Vampires; where the damage you do is irrelevant as the thing that kills the mob is rolling a natural 20.

+1 finessable 1-handed vorpals with no kicker tend to be valued around 150-200k PP - they are common, but virtually every melee-specced toon wants two of them. Were the Vorp to be a higher plus, or to have a useful kicker that increases accuracy instead of damage like Righteousness or (lesser, standard or greater) Evil Outsider Bane, I'd value it at more.

Also, don't let auction house prices fool you. They mean nothing at all unless the item sells - the Khyber AH has had a +1 frost rapier of smiting sitting on it for weeks at 1.5 million plat, that doesn't make this quite-nice-but-not-quite-uber item worth 1.5m PP.

+5 mith FP is still quite rare, although in moderately low demand. The Khyber price is about 450-500k PP for an ML8 +5 MFP, less for ML12-16 with junk mods, more for high-level +5MFP with useful mods like Blueshine or Twilight.
