I almost cared. Then I realized when I logged in for 5 minutes earlier this week that we had no chance, since I hadn't seen a PUG raid LFM up for a long, long time.
then I stopped caring and went to sleep so I could work another 14 hour day.
PS The required tokens were based on server populations and Argo's is the highest. Unless almost everybody was raiding, which is unlikely, then of course we'd be last. Of course the server with one of the lowest population's in the game won.....capiche on that?

I agree. I cared, but I have a life. It proves that role-playing online is a replacement for social life at large where humans interact face-to-face.
I really like my friends in the games and my guilds, but I've got a lot more going on than DDO. I can run a Necromancer in 5-9 minutes on elite, yes, but I won't do it 10 hours a day.
For my contribution I was flagging people left and right and trying to help them get their Voice of the Master so they could focus on the Unlock.
And yeah, our server pop vs our elite player base playing like addicts is somewhat diminished.
Aspenor has it pegged pretty squarely.

If it was based on accounts and not even activated, I definitely contributed to 3 dead trial accounts to bring down our average. >_< That would really suck if they used trial accounts because we did a LOT of Argo-Promoting 2 years ago to become as big as we are. I again am to blame partially for that. Hell, still am -- I point people here if they're not looking for something one of the "special" servers has.
It's summer time. People that I know are outside doing stuff instead of sitting on their ass playing a video game. I did raids this past week but I was hammered during most of them because I'd been out enjoying happy hour with people. Now I'll be inside playing this weekend because it's going to be 100 degrees outside and I can only sit at the pool for so long and golfing in weather like that is miserable. Plus a lot of the hard-core people that I know are playing other games now because they are tired of doing the same 5 quests (raids) that they have been doing for the past 2 years.
Jond's idiotic post not withstanding, I really think that Argo, for the most part, is over DDO for now.

I can only speak for myself... but I could care less. A majority of the world works during the week and can't spend 8 hours a night playing DDO. Too many variables... and too many other things that go into which server "wins". Trying to insult people cause your server won is pretty lame if you are truly trying to put people down. Jokingly trash talking, hey that's cool. But some of you posters are really trying to equate your "victory" in this as some sign of super uber eliteness.
I used to have a job that allowed me to play DDO A LOT more. However, that is not the case now and for most people on the server it's the same. Throw in a new class to play and you add another distraction. I know plenty of very very good players who could care less whether the raid is unlocked last night, tonight, or saturday. Count me as one of them.
This contest means nothing. Reminds me of Field Day in elementary school. Anyone used to have those?
You know, you can sit here and post from work, from home, during breaks, and after your wife tells you you can, and you can also make yourself and your situation seem more important than it really is. You don't walk a mile in anyones shoes other than your own, and to ride your little high horse about who has a life and who doesn't actually made me blink.
You want to disrespect people and how they have their fun? Really? Really?? I guess that makes you a bigger, better person. More important.
This is a game, a world, for people to find a way within to have fun, but not meant at the expense of others.
Without knowing you, I had built up quite a bunch of respect for you based not only on what you said, but how you said it. Even when I disagreed with it.
Actually, quite a few of us did.
Totally sub-par man.
-dissapointed dog.

Put this thing in perspective guys. That goes for my fellow Argonnessians and all of the
gloating folks from all the other servers. There was a contest that was being promoted
by the devs, and it was based on the server population. The competition had some flaws
from the beginning.
A contest involves getting contestants to participate. Yes Argo has a huge population, but
how many of them were actually involved in the contest? They were involved becasue the
devs included everyone, but they never made a choice to compete with anyone.
You look at any competition, there is a definite sign up for WILLING participants. Then there
is a starting time and the competition goes till someone wins. I only saw a handfull of people
from Argo even show any interest in this competition.
If the devs would have had people that were interested in this competition sign up, then base
the number of tokens on the number of WILLING particpants from each server that would have
been a better competition.
The environment on Argonnessen currently is this:
Day of the patch I get home at 4:30 PM central to find over 200 monks online on Argonessen.
there are dozens of level 3's and four level 4's already. I look at the LFM's to see that there
are over a dozen quests going on and only one of them is over level 5. The one quest was a
shroud raid.
I have had to explain to someone in every group that I have been in the last 2 weeks how to get
to the quest that we were going to do. There are so many new people on Argo that have never
even done Tangleroot or Deleras that you would not believe (much less raid).
Yesterday afternoon, there were several groups for Delera's, 3 Barrel cove, Stormcleave, and Gwylan's.
There was only one raid on the LFM's again.
I think Argonnessen showed the community where its' priorities lie from the minute the patch went live.
1. Create and level a monk build (new character class)
2. Run the 3 barrel cove encounter area (new encounter area)
3. Get the 'Voice of the Master' trinket (new item to the game)
I don't think very many people even had 'Raid Quests to beat the other Servers' on their lists.
I think you can see that Argonnessen is concerned about new content, but not an open ended contest
that only a handful of people ever showed interest in from the begining.
Now I will congratulate Thelanis for being first because it did take alot of grinding to do it. This accomplishment
says that you took the challenge from the developers when others didn't. It says that you are willing to grind quests
that are older than dirt regardless of how mind numbing it is. (I think there is a real mean of genius commercial here)
What I personally realized, from the begining, is that the new content will open up regardless. We are going to raid
as a server and it will eventually open up. I am in no hurry to beat the new content and be bored again while
we wait till October or November for more content.
I emplore all of you to go to work or school and tell everyone you know that you were the first to unlock the subterrainean
content on DDO. You probably won't do this because you know what the response will be. Something to the effect of
'Get a life man!' or 'You play too much video games' or 'What is that?' or 'So.?!??'
Put this in prospective folks. Do not attach your in-game accomplishments with your real life accomplishments or ego
because it just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Please refer to the following threads where Argo posters talk trash about how the server is going to win...then turn into a bunch of pu$$i3$ because they arent in the lead and claim they "dont care" and are now "too busy" to raid.

Its not the busy life of ppl that I am talking about ... I am happy that people have a life and lots of stuff to do outside of a video game. Its when people talk smack then get b-slapped and then make up excuses as to why they couldnt follow through with their smack ... that is weak sauce
