Hmmmm that is a good question. I would say it is. If you where to trade both for plat the person trading FOR the W/P rapier might come out on the short end. I think if you where to sell the gs rapier and 24 large ingrediants you would get more for them than the W/P but I think some will feel W/P rapier is a better weapon than a mineral 2 rapier.

In short if both parties involved feel it is worth it then I would say it is a good trade.

ingredients can be farmed and attained easily, it may be a grind but they are way easier than a w/p rapier. and to be honest in all the time ive been playing i havent seen anyone pull a w/p rapier, let alone pull one myself. if u have the w/p rapier i wouldnt do it. good luck though.

My ranger uses W/P rapiers and 95% of all mobs I fight that is what I use, except for end bosses. I dont care what weapon a person makes in the shroud, it will never outkill a W/P. As Heffty said, you can farm ingredients all day long with success, but you can farm all quests all day long for months and months and never see a W/P rapier. With all that said, I would say that a W/P is not worth even two Greensteel weapons and all ingredients up to a tier three multi blened weapon. There may be some that prefer DPS to W/P and might have one and not want to put the hours into the ingredients grind. Bottom line is that it is up to the peeps trading as to the personal value and if both parties agree on this type of trade, then it is a good trade. I would never trade a W/P for anything, it is by far the best weapon in the game period!

Just so you guys know where I'm coming from with this question, I'll give you the scenario.

I was on one of my patented "W/P are more rare than ANYTHING else in the game" rants and someone tried to tell me that a Dual Tier III weapon was better. I asked if the person had a w/p rapier, the person said no but he would trade one for all the ingredients to get a dual tier III rapier. I totally understand that value and fairness in a trade is subject but I always try to make sure that both parties in a trade are getting fair value. I don't consider all the ingredients for a dual tier III weapon to be anywhere close in value to a w/p rapier because you can guaranteed a green steel weapon if you run the Shroud enough but you'll never be guaranteed a w/p anything no matter how many quests you run.

Then I decided to throw the question out to the mob and see where they stand. Thanks for your replies so far.

Fair price for a W/P rapier on Khyber is about 60 large ingredients (assuming a good mixture). The trade you speak of is for something worth about 27-30 larges.

I'm aware of one having been traded for that amount, plus another trade for 10 scales, a Bloodstone and 1 million plat.

So I'd say it's nowhere near a fair trade. (Although it would be close were it a W/P shortsword with something making it better like +3 or the extra toughness of being Adamantine).

I've never been a fan of trading away something that appears randomly (and extremely rare) for something that is a static drop (ingredients in this case.)

I wouldn't trade a w/p for a fully upgraded greensteel dual shard......maybe if I was really sick of the grind....
