Default +1 Wounding Longbow of Puncture

Pulled this the other day. Just wondering what its worth. A guildie told me put it up for no less than 400K plat buyout. Really?!? I'm new to the high end economy of small supply/high demand weapons.

    Thanks

The lowest I'ven seen w/p bows go for is 400k plat which is what i got mine for. If i had the choice, I personally wouldn't value them over 200k plat because compared to a w/p melee of any kind they suck outside of manyshot, but yeah 400k+ sounds about right

I love my w/p long bow. Altho it is a very situational item.

I got mine as a gift, but I've seen them in AH for significantly higher than 400k. Would I personally pay that much, no, but then I have one so I dont need one

Would I pay that much, probably not, BUT, it is a reasonable spot to start IF you really want to sell it. In the hands of a good archer, it can be devastating on tons of mobs. (manyshot, Improved Precise shot, Improved Crit Ranged, etc)....20 seconds of archery death.

W/P weapons can go for silly money at times, especially the high crit ones. Without Manyshot, etc, a base 20 crit weapon is somewhat devalued, so you will not be seeing the 1000K plat bids you might see for something like a Rapier for example.

Your guildie is correct, anything less then 400k plat, would be a deal for someone ELSE.
stick to your guns 400k plat to start, or use it to trade for 5+ top items for your toons.
lots of people have more stuff then they can shake a stick at, so think about what you want for your
toons and put it up here, there would be a **** big bidding war then...

I've got one of these on my ranger.

They are one of the best items in game. Others will say a WoP Rapier is better - and overall, I'd tend to agree. And yes, I have both.

But the bow, with multishot, is by far the quickest and easiest way to kill anything. And if you can line things up, you can drop multiple things in an instant.

Even orange names. Even on elite. With that bow, in Running with the Devils on elite (one of the harder quests) you can easily solo the first orange named guy that guards the switch to the bridge, taking no damage at all.

Personally, I would counsel you not to sell it at all, but rather to build a high-dex melee based ranger. When your multishot is available, just pull that bow out and you'll be a room clearer.

I'll chime in that I wouldn't pay over 200-ish for it, but I can see how it's worth 400k to others. Nice pull.
Devs: Thanks for making Druids available to VIPs without the pack. This more than anything, has made me want to buy the pack.

I would agree. That's the kind of item that I would build a character to use.

Well, It's on the AH for 350K plat with a buyout of 500K plat. If it comes back, I'll hold onto it for a while. Thx for the advise guys.

It sold. My toon now has about 450K plat...sweet! But, a little sellers remorse now, as I was kind of hoping it would come back, so I could build another toon around it. Oh well. Thanks for the advice guys.

I know your pain. I had a set of +5 MFP back when Mod 1 came out. My character only had a 13 Dex and wasn't getting any more any time soon (back when +4 stat items were super rare) so I sold it. I regretted it when I made my barbarian a month later...

Well look at it this way, you got a decent price for it. By asking here first you avoided the real big blunder of putting a lowball buyout on it. You now have a decent working capital to pick up whatever you might want within reason. I know my Paly got lucky and pulled one of the Rare Shield pieces from the Orchard and managed to make a nice score on that (I had no real intention of trying to get all 8).

I hear yah. I am happy with my toon's new found wealth. Don't mind buffing and rebuffing the whole party with stone skin, now. Picked up a few items I've been wanting, but nothing really expensive. And when I finally hit 1750 favor (only 200 away), and roll up my next toon, I can outfit him with decent lowbee equipment on the way up.

Lastly, saves me from thinking about selling my bloodstone. I considered it, before, to load up on some plat, but no need to now. That's reserved for when I role up a melee toon.
