I've been around since launch, but took a few months off for other games. I just was checking the compadium and noticed something odd about spells. It's now listing spells per day? Does that mean they changed the spell system to be more in line with PnP D&D? The game no longer uses spell points then?

No, we don't use spells per day, we still use spell points.

Then why is the DDO compendium saying spells per day? Acording to it, a sorcerer can only cast 3 spells per day, and know 2 at level 1.

Because the Compendium sucks

It means spells known, not spells per day. A level 1 sorc can cast 2 level 1 spells (spells known), a level 2 sorc can cast 3 spells, but can do so until his sp is used up.
