    Default Spending Skill Points

    So I have 3 skill points to spend per level. One always goes into Concentration, and one always goes into UMD. Where should I put the 3rd one? I should note that I'm intending to stay pure Sorcerer.

    Heal? More HP at rest shrines... but could always use a wand.
    Search? Find secret doors and stuff... but again, can use a wand.
    Jump? Comes in handy at times... but pots are available.
    Repair? Meh, who cares about WF. (Pls no flames, just kidding!)
    Tumble? Less damage from falling... but irrelevent with FF.

    I'm thinking my best choices are:
    Diplomacy - I haven't used it very much yet, but I hear it's helpful in getting aggro off you.
    Spot - Helpful to keep you from running into traps when a rogue isn't around.

    Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

    If you're set in only the skills that you listed, I'd probably lean towards Spot. It not only helps with traps, but it also helps you notice monsters earlier, meaning less of a chance of running into them unaware.

    I chose diplomacy, for soloing...

    Charm...diplo...run....no aggro.

    I'd say diplo or balance. Both are very useful almost anywhere.

    A rank or two in tumble is also really good.

    I should have mentioned that I put a 2 pts (1.0) each in Tumble and Balance when I initially rolled, so it sounds like I was on the right track there.

    I won't necessarily limit myself to only Spot and/or Diplomacy; I'm still new and am interested in what's going to help me the most in the end.

    Diplomacy, Spot and Balance are all great choices for that third skill point.

    It's really a matter of preference - it won't make or break your build (Like UMD/Concentration), so yeah.

    Personally, I know where all creatures & traps are going to be after I've done everything in the game 10+ times, so spot is useless there.. and Diplomacy? I generally nuke/instakill anything in my way, I don't have time to waste diploing. It's about easier to just FoD it. Once again, just my preference.

    Balance is, IMO, the most useful.. because while there are alternatives to diplo (kill it, stone it, charm it, hypno, whatever) and spot (running the quest once before...), there is no substitute for balance. You get tripped by an air ele/hyena/dog/sleet storm/whatever, you're toast because you can't get back up for 3 minutes.

    I would normally say stick to the skills that are specific to class so for sorcerer that would mean bluff. But bluff at the current game mechanic imo is not a strong skill to use. So I would vote diplomacy. Now if your play style tends to ignore active skills, and you are a passive player in that respect, then go spot. Just figure out what kind of player you are, and how you will react in situations.

    Diplomacy is great for fending off aggro
    but if you don't think you will use it constantly,
    then spot to avoid mobs before they see you is the next best thing.
