    Default Fix the Lag

.....hasnt been a thread about this in about 5 mins.

...my first complaint thread ever on this board.

    ...fix the lag.

I have never experienced lag this bad in the midst of a Shroud run.

    (I have a high speed connection...and a quick computer)

Yesterday, I was running through the House D ward, and I was constantly starting and stopping due to the lag. I thought it was just my computer. Sometimes it has trouble in Gianthold...things don't like to render very quickly, and it makes me laggy. But I figure that's due to some memory hog that Dell has running in the background of my computer...and one of these days I'll find it and disable it.

But then, in General chat, people started asking if others were lagging. At least 5 other people commented that they were experiencing lag, too. That makes me disinclined to blame my system...and more inclined to think that it's something more universal. Hopefully, whatever the problem, Turbine will be able to find it and fix it.

From my former experience in programming, I know that things like this can be difficult to find and fix.

(Though, sometimes they're just difficult to find and easy to fix. We had an incident once in modelling simulated Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRSs) that a parenthesis was in the wrong spot...and instead of the satellites staying in geo-sync orbit during the sim, they were drifting across the sky. Took 4 or 5 engineers a few dedicated weeks of searching to find the problem, but only a couple of minutes to fix it. I'm suspecting that a situation like this is not what Turbine will find with the lag problems...though I do admit that the lag has not been as bad since the fix...not completely fixed...but not as bad, either. )
