    Default Rogue Splash?

I am close to level capping my Drow WIZ14/ROG1. I am going to make a 32 pt WF Wizzie next. I was planning to make him a pure WIZ. But as I looked at it, the only stat I'd need for a wiz/rog that I wouldnt already have is WIS. If I'm willing to run with a gimped spot, I could have a full powered WIZ, just one level down. And those Rog skills are handy!

Anybody want to talk me out of doing a rogue splash on a s8, d16,c16,i18,w6,c6 WF?

    Thanks,

If there was anything I would try to talk you out of on that build is if you do settle on getting evasion you might be better off reallocating that DEX elsewhere and taking insightful reflexes. Unless you need that DEX for feat requirements the AC granted from the points in DEX tends to be a wash down the road.

I was thinking DEX for AC too. I had noticed that in a number of builds the DEX is dumped and wondered.

    ?

That's because most caster dont care for AC. If your caster needs AC, you're probably doing something wrong.
Technically the WIZ-rogue is a wizard that can do traps. But sometimes, you need to cross the trap, and it can be deadly without evasion, and evasion needs a reflex save.

So, people grab 2 levels of rogue, get evasion, and take the insightfull reflex feat---> makes you INT bonus apply to relfex save instead of dex.

Grimmage wears Mummy Wraps and has a buffed AC around 40. Between fearsome and his AC, he survives agro pretty well, which, I suppose, is different than not getting agro in the first place. So I guess I'm doing something wrong but it's working for me.

Anyway, any thoughts on rogue splash versus straight wizzie?

Warforged wizards are self healing and dont have as much of a need for ac, displacement and stoneskin are all you need.

Fair enough. So where would one put the extra attribute points? CON is 16 already. 18 CON, 10 DEX and 12 STR?

    Thanks,

Hey Al. On my wiz/rog type I di put some points into wisdom, I think I got it up to a 12 which is enough with items to spot most traps in the game. It was on a drow, making it a little cheaper but I woulldnt personnally toss wis out the window if you plan on being a trapsmith. I would also take that 2nd level of rogue for evaision with insightful reflexes like others have suggested. Makes for a much less squishy trapsmith and overall character.

Add that to 8th level spells being nothing to write home about and I would ask the question why wouldnt you make a wiz/rog.
