    Default Quality of Shroud Pugs

I don't know if I have just been lucky but are the pugs all of a sudden....well good?
my last 5 runs have been smooth as silk.

I ran a shroud run last night...
    MrMurder was the leader

not 2 people from the same guild...
We had baaaad lag in part 1 but recovered like a guild run.

We just kinda plowed through it.
Everyone knew their job it was great!
    Just wanted to say thanks!

    How many kills Rocky get?
I've met and chatted with both Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax.
To both of you, I raise a glass in toast and say THANK YOU!

I haven't run any of the vale quests yet (been working on leveling a character), but i'm about ready to. So I'm sure I'll cause a drop in quality in the next week or two.

It really can vary, I put together, 1-2 shroud runs every night, noramyl they are atleast half invite then the remaider pug, I normaly ask a question or 2 before I invite blindly, Like does the tank have a weapon that has more DPs then a wet noodle fro the pit fiend, (ie about a +3 transmuter)....
99.5% of my runs are smoth as silk every now and again in a pug heavier run i just get a bad combination of peopel that don't knwo *** they area doing & wont listen this is most often obvious in part 2, part 4/5 if certen key people are solid it can make up for a few less skilled/equiped people and you don't really notice it cept big red takes 4-5 mins insted of 3-4.

mine is from the "i can only have one bard per group" crowd, nevermind that one runs like a barbarian (and can open locks as a bonus) and the other is a better healer than my cleric. i stopped trying to get my sorc in there.

its been good as its allowed me to get my rogue up to 13 pretty quickly. i can only imagine what kind of trouble she is going to have trying to get in there.

I think I was on that Mr.Murder run. It went very well. The one person who clearly had never done the raid before kept asking "Ok, why are we doing this?" and people actually explained it (I chimed in as well), and also made sure that she knew where some of the pitfalls where (Do NOT touch the portal to part 5 until we are all ready, etc.)

I have been seeing less "Why don't you know this noob?" and more "Lets get more people trained for future raids"....This is going to be a big help if Khyber is going to do well in the "unlocking" contest.

Have been on some not too bad runs lately as well, part 5 was my bard and a sorc being tasked with healing a WF barb with reconstruct scrolls with me chucking the occaisional heal on others tanking big red when I can.

    Went pretty smoothly.

No...the pug raids aren't better. Cheesing out of part 2, and some still cheesing out of part 4 and 5. I'm guildless..but I try to squeeze my way into a guild run. Ones that are not only capable of..but do pull the four named in part to to places where bugging is not likely (Excluding Kobold and Lion, as they just dont' move period..were the others do) and whip their ass like a band of knowledgeable players.

Now..I suppose Turbine implimented sections to allow for the enemies to not move back to the center..and if they did, they need to stop letting the retards code..cuase having 'safe spots' in a war in which the enemies want to return, and beat our ass is just lunicy. So..if they aren't bugs...it's still an extremely boring and cowardly way to win...and PUGs do it a lot...from what I've seen

I just wish they would fix the bugs in part 2 (if they are indeed bugs and not something intended). I mean, how do you accidently code something like what happens? If they are bugs and they haven't fixed it yet (they've had what, 4 months and they have already changed/fixed various things in the shroud) it seems pretty poor form.

Has anyone PMd KK about this exact problem and gotten a reply stating whether these are bugs or WAI?

I always thought it was a bug, but given that no attempt to change it has been made, it wasn't included on KK's "The List #1" and also given the observation that the orb colours change when this tactic applies, I've come to the conclusion it is working as intended and is a valid tactic for weaker groups.

That said, I expect it may change in the future, so I always want to beat it without using this tactic. If this is changed, Part 2 will become the hardest part of the Shroud, IMO, given how good people are becoming at 4-5.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
