    Talking creatures and water

I'm sure everyone has had some type of problem with this at one point or another, but I never really noticed it until last night when I was getting killed by Kobold shaman. I noticed how he was running up and down the rushing water with out it's speed being affected and not to mention standing still in rushing water to cast spells at me and throw fire bombs. What really made me angry was the fact that it poped off three spells before I could even reach it, standing there mocking me as it stood still in the flowing waters of the sewer as I was struggling to reach it.

Now I'm one of those select few who are semi- excited to see the next mod including the monk class, but all in all I would rather see problems like this taken care of or atleast addressed by the dev team in some way or another, I know this is low priority problem but it would be a quick and easy fix, to atleast give some of the creatures the same movement penilties as the PC's.

(chuckle) Not to offend, but don't hold your breath.

This issue has been around since the beta release, and has been brought up several times. (I've personally brought it up a couple of times in a different threads.)

It's even worse when you're in swim-deep water with a monster and it can still attack you freely, while all you can do is try to swim to someplace where you can stand.

I think the reason it hasn't been addressed - besides not being a big priority - is that it doesn't happen in too many places. There's the lighthouse (don't get me started on how fast the zombies are in the first place, nevermind in water), the wilderness areas, Three-Barrel Cove, and a couple others I can't recall at the moment. The issue simply doesn't occur often enough to be looked at as a big issue.

Best you can do is pay attention to your surroundings and try to draw your targets away from the water if you can or range them if you can't.

[QUOTE=deathknighx23;1711822]I'm sure everyone has had some type of problem with this at one point or another, but I never really noticed it until last night when I was getting killed by Kobold shaman. Do you think he was intentionaly mocking you or was it more of a apathy of your plight in general? The reason im asking is that many of the monster i fight are more apathetic in nature almost, "i dont care attritude wether i kill this guy or not". As a union memeber IRL i was wondering if there is maybe some monster /union issues that we are not aware of? Also know that i think of it there is that one monster in Running with the devils that refuses to attack me or be attacked by me. The first time this happend i figured he was on coffe break so i came back a few days later and same thing. Now im wondering if there is some fomr of strike or work stoppage of monsters in general? If anyone has any info please let me know. thks.

Just another example of the general lack of detail given to this game. I guess that happens when you have substandard QC in place, along with arguable design decisions.

Maybe......just maybe they have had to prioritize Dev-Time to finally fix things like ladders?

Or Maybe to give us Monks in 2008 and not in 2010?

I´m no defender of poor QC, but Definitely in favor of intelligent prioritizing so that you are effective in what you do..... to try and do everything will just cause more mistakes IMO.

Orcs running into the lava in GH and not dieing is another one. I would like to be able to trip a critter or knock them into the water or lava, and see them drown or die if they can not swim. I would also like to see them fall and die from heights if we knock them off a cliff. This kind game substance needs to be addressed soon.
