Actually yeah, I just went to update it (as one char on there doesn't even exist anymore) and found out about the whole 4-line restriction...and promptly backed the heck up; unprepared as to what to do!

But I'll take credit for mad skillz too...

I'll give you guys a look. I'm level 0 right now (haven't even picked the game up yet, but have a copy waiting for me when I get off work) and I'm not sure what server I'll be playing on.

As for it being rude to post an advertisement in the off topic forum to have people from one MMO you play to join you in another MMO - relax people! He isn't bashing DDO and saying "Oh, it's so much better over here, come play this game instead!" - he has good intentions. What, you think that people only play one MMO? Many people play more than one MMO and urge their friends and other good players to join them.

Besides, like it or not the MMO Market is a very competitive one. Either you make/improve a product to retain your playerbase in the face of other MMO's coming out or you don't and suffer dwindling subs. There will always be a core playerbase that keeps a game going, look at UO, still kickin' after 11 years and it only recently got a graphical "update".

If you don't like it, pass on by, please don't shake your fingers at people going about this without bashing DDO and are planning to keep playing both DDO and AoC.

Ahh, it was originally in Thelanis forums but they moved it. We were trying to recruit people specifically from our own community. But then I saw a big thread in general asking what server people were playing AoC on so I mentioned us there. And then they moved both threads.

Install on my machine took a while. It's 2 DVD's. Updating didn't take very long last night, about what you'd expect for a MOD here give or take. There'll probably be more patches today.

ya the install went pretty quick. there was some kind of error, and when i saw that i was like but it fixed itself without a reinstal or having to re-download the patches, so that impressed me greatly.

you need to register in your account for the AOC forums, thats what i did and managed to get in.

ya i was registered when i preordered, but had to reregister once i got the game, and couldn't take my first forum name.

go to register.ageofconan.com and confirm your account name and password works there. once you get synced up there, your forums acocunt is tied to your user account at first, and once you log into AoC forums, you can change your user name and password stuff there.

I think it is bad form to advertise for players to join up with you in a different game.

If in the ddo general fourm you would be right but in the off topic its fine and they are saying ooooo AoC is great leave DDO and come with us they are just telling people who might want to play the other game or play both where some players who think possilby like they do will be playing.

You think it is bad form, or you think it is bad for DDO's survival? There is a difference, and at the same time, there are many people that will continue playing both. At least for the next 6 months.

I personaly, my opinion, and no offense, but I think it is actualy good. My reasoning, if you are going to bounce from DDO to another place, why not let others in a place where people know you bounce with you also? At least you have common ground, and something to bounce back and forth to with your freinds?

Just saying, there are a LOT of hate threads because people are doing what people are supposed to do in forums: Communicate. I have freinds that play DDO, and they are bouncing with me, and they span several well known guilds. I dont have access to all those guilds forums, so posting in their forums would not work. I can't register. I hope this kinda explains why I have my viewpoint on the subject.
