How much effort would be involved in implementing a thread rating system?

It would be great to see something like this... it would also make browsing the forums for helpful and insightful posts much easier.

Dont really like the idea based on my feeling that most critics OPINIONS are different than mine. However much work would be involved is too much imo.

Just sounds like a good way for forum snobites to pat each other on the back, letting each other know what a great and relavent thread they just wrote. Read um and decide for yourself...

This would be a web dev job.

The whole point of rating a thread is that it would calculate everyones "vote" against the total for it's rating.

Fwiw, it's really not that hard to implement.

Only problem is that in our forums we have people who don't particularly like each other. Often a thread is blasted not because of its content but becasue of the people who posted the suggestion. We would see some people get a great many positive response not becasue of their post but because of their character while others would receive the direct opposite.

Its already build into the Forum Software.... It would just need to be turned on... I think it is (Or was) Turned on in the User Writen Guide Forum.
