Ok, there are 3 tiers of smiters. Crappy , mediocre and best. All are dependant on crit range, 18-20 being best, rapier is of this class. Is that clear enough?? I can't comprehend why people say stuff like this, do you just like starting arguments?, lol

    Default does it really matter?

i.e., if every melee in the party at level 16 is wielding or dual-wielding any smiters (which they should be), guess what? it does not really matter what you are holding in your hand because the constructs are going down fast anyway

right now with my rogue, i dual-wield a +3 light pick of smiting & +4 shortsword of smiting, i am not going to lose any sleep over the fact that i am not wielding a smiting rapier right now & i am definitely not paying 200,000 plat for one as that is pretty ridiculous & really not that necessary at the end of the day

anyway, some of you guys should start looking at the entire forest vs. just focusing on some trees

but, if you want to be the most uber construct-killer on the server then i guess you should buy a smiting rapier immediately lol

    lets' talk about power 5's

obviously, rapiers, khopeshes, some kukri's, & dwarven axes are above the rest of the weapons

but, you cannot even auction off other power 5's right now or they can be purchased for much less than 50,000 plat

i sell banishing shortbows & vorpal bastard swords at the house d pawnbroker because they do not even sell at auction

disrupters, smiter, paralyzers, they are a joke right now, you can get a paralyzer for 7,000 plat

you can get good banishers for less than 120,000 plat unless you want to pay millions of plat for that banishing rapier someone is always trying to sell on the khyber ah (probably one of the posters in this thread)

i do just fine in the vale dual-wielding a banishing dagger & a vorpal kukri

my point is that the market is over-priced and you do not need to have the most-uber mathematical weapon to be effective in this game

OP, i would put the rapier on buy-out for 200,000 plat & see what happens, it will probably sell, but i will not be buying it because at that price it is too much IMO

Yup, all about uberness, thats why I have a dozen Same thing with banishers. Just look at the picture if the whole party was using rapiers. most things die instantly.

If you are desperate to sell, follow this advice.

I'd advise putting it with a base price of 350-400k PP and a buyout of 500kPP.

I'd say you are 50/50 to sell it at that price.

Were it a banisher, you'd be sitting on 750k-1m PP.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

    u forgot falchions

btw i'd sell any of the 18-20 smiters for 1 large scale or stone just to get it out of my bank for something useful.

p.s. bank is now empty, but I do have a tier 3 finally ^^

You don't NEED the uber crit range weapon to be effective, but pricing one the same as any other smiter would be a mistake. There is a reason these are more valuable, and it's because they ARE better, mathematically. No, you don't need one, but you don't NEED to even own a power 5 weapon to be effective, either.
