    Default Price check: greater potency VII

    Got a scepter of Greater Potency VII and was wondering what it was worth, plat-wise and in terms of gear trading.

    Question greater pot 7 value

    not much .. u can find in house d vendor if u look often. Price in there is about 10-12k plat i beleave so i would say 2.5k -5k plat is fair

    I'd have thought marginally more than that, but certainly it's not a high-value item like it was prior to Mod 6.

    10-20k PP I'd say.

    Hmm. The responses I've been getting are that a superior potency VI (+50% on 6th level spells and below) is many times more valuable than a greater potency VII (+40% on 7th level spells and below). That 10% difference is worth that much? Interesting.

    The problem now is Superior VI isnt worth much any more. And greater VII doesnt give much of anything except to delayed blast and every caster I have talked to has been a lot less than impressed with that spell. So yeah greater VII is probably worth a little less than you would pay to grab it off a vendor.

    That's right.

    +10% is that good, especially as you'll only be adding damage to Delayed Blast Fireball (was an excellent spell in Mod 5, horrid now that half the endgame is fire immune) and Finger of Death (which you want to deal LESS damage on a successful save, so you have less aggro).

    Its pretty nice on a cleric, so you get more out of mass cure serious. That way you can spam mass cure mod AND serious and its worth it, while without it both mass mod and serious do about the same healing. Sure you lose like 20pts on your heal spells, but you can always carry a sup 6 for the times you wont use mass heals.

    And isn't Destruction a 7th level cleric spell?

    destruction isnt really a damage spell
