Exclamation LF core players

I am here looking to sink my claws into the depths of our DDO community. Here is the mess.

Insectoids, fans of LEX, Starcraft, late night gamers, elitism, haters, players & you, I have a proposal, and it's just for you.

Please send me some mail if your interested in participating in something new.

How many hardcore starcraft players even play DDO?

I just know of myself and Dryth.

DDO used to be more twitch based with respect to melee combat (strafing to increase swing rate, hotbar weapon swapping for continous fire of repeaters, or hotbar clicking for continous swing rate (which I did WHILE moving ><)

But after they added delays and nerfed swing rate while strafing (and reduced ease at which you could even register a hit on a mob while moving) I started to get sleepy while playing (i.e. not enough actions per minute in the game).

I can cope now via playing while drunk instead of playing while highly caffeinated, but I can't wait for starcraft II to satisfy my twitch desires and propel me to carpal tunnel extacy.

warcraft 3 beta was FUN. You used to be able to load musketmen inside the steam tanks (and they could still shoot), and the steam tanks were totally different. The all mighty steam tank army with 4 musketmen in each one and a pile of peasants to repair was unstoppable!

I was never big on warcraft I/II/III for multiplayer though. SC ftw

Ok guys, heres a bit of the lowdown. What I'd like to see started is a guild swarm in our own server. The concept is taking from the insectiods race from startrek. We are on Thelanis now boys, lets do it. Also the guild focuses on zerging and mainly solo capable builds., What I mean by this is having a guild of players all playing the same builds, these builds will be high end builds based on speed and dps and also little twitch tactics. More focus on the dps and speed though. I'm starting to work on a build here it could be the main unit in the swarm for awhile.

For example:
The Hydralisk. The Hydralisk is a high dps tempest build.

wait...you want everyone in the guild playing the exact same build? that doesn't make much sense

Nah Clay, it wouldn't my build, but a build thats bveen worked on by other ppl on the forum and who get involved. Not my build because no-one can own a build, ppl can only expereince a build, so this is the offer to experience zerging with otehrs who have the same exact build or two.

So the swarm will be very team oriented since we are all experiencing and working with the same sort of material playing together! On a regular basis for flavor and for fun it is based of zZergs. I know, i am already in a guildalso where we might as well be called zergers Clay, but this is for flavor and to try something new different, ubers and cool. Maybe we can meet some new ppl too. How do you think about this idea now Clay? Maybe you can share your opinions of the build that would be one of the main choices for play, it is in the ranger build discussion forum under the title Hydralisk.

Yup... sounds like Legion.

One guild, one mindset... Kill, Kill, Kill, Win, Win, Win, as fast as possible.

Doesn't matter what the build is, it's the player. I've seen Clerics, Rogues, Etc., in our guild completely dominate quests that are normally, primarily dominated by Tanks.

It's not about the build, it's about the mindset.

Really?

I only know of a few that are like this...

Legion, Storm Lords, GSI, Reapers...

What other guilds are big and strong enough, and have a level of parity - by member in the guild that fit this model?

If you know, list them, perhaps the OP can look to join one of those guild; one that allows for petition for membership.

Only problem with those I listed, I am pretty sure they are all very selective about who they recruit, which would prolly let them out for the OP.

several simply means more than one

you listed 4, that's several

i know there's a couple other guilds that are decent zergers too, just can't remember off hand who they are (I haven't pugged in a while)

C'mon now, Indago's been zerging away since day 1.
Granted, we are not super elitist with who we recruit, and we will take friends of friends and the occasional new player every now and then, and as such we have *some* people who are not crazy speed runners, but if you want to reminisce a little..

Granted, most of the guys in that ghost run are in Legions now, but Indago's core raiders remain. Nearly everyone has pre-ordered AoC though, so how long we remain... remains to be seen. O_O

Default Pugging And Zerging

Okay... to the 3 posts above this one...

1 - Coldin - Okay, it is true that GSI are not necessarily "always" zergers, but as a guild and to a player, they are more than capable of it and do, do so on occasions... and you know it...

2 - Don't tell me to PUG more... for the love of &^$%#&... I just pretty much pugged my new cleric to level 11 and it took me 3 weeks and it was HORRORAWFUL!!! --- Most of the people I ran with did not or could not afford pots, so it cost me about 100K plat to get to this level... But, I'm sure you mean to pug at the higher levels. Yea, I've tried... honestly I have. Now, I'm not saying there aren't a number of very good to excellent guilds out there, what I'm saying is from my personal experience (or from friends that I have spoken with) they are not necessarilly into zerging the toughest quests and raids at all, or on a regular basis. I know for one, on a number of occasions our peeps are timing quests and looking for ways to constantly make them go faster and better.

3 - Vlad / Sair - No disrespect intended by leaving Indago off my list, a guild who I've always had good experiences running with (well... only been a few times), but again, as I stated in point 2... my intent was to point out that it is obvious that certain guilds focus on completing the toughest raids / quests on a regular basis and focus time, resources, energy, etc. on mastering them and becoming more efficient each time they run. I know the leaders and / or officers of the guilds I listed had the Shroud down to a science within the first day or 2 after release.

And... as for AOC, yup we are going to lose some people to that as well... perhaps for a short period or forever, but at this point it is only speculation.

Anyways, I'm sure that there are other guilds that would suit the OP, especially a guild like Indago who has an excellent and solid core, and looks like may consider someone newer to the game / server.

Well, I suppose that just goes more with the fact that once you reach a certain skill level in the game and you've done every quest dozens of times, you just naturally start to zerg everywhere.

Defintely, but mostly because of the skill level.

Day 1 of Mod 6 / Shroud... Kyrian, Aislyn, Mysty, Jundak, me and a few others in the Vale, flagged twice for the Shroud and averaging 15-45 (Coalescense - because of me falling over and over again) minutes per flagging quest and then Kyrian, Aislyn and me entering the Shroud part 1 to see what it's all about within hours of the release and no previous knowledge or experience with the raid, hoping the 3 of us could finish it... haha

Oh yea... add kahunas to the list of required attributes...
