    Default Mystic Assassin (a build by whim)

    Objectives
    This was a build inspired by requests for an assassin character before there were assassin abilities and such in the game. The concept was a mage assassin since they had access to the most instant death abilities and their skill points allowed for stealth. The idea was to sneak up and pop enemies with necromancy spells.

    Design
    The original build was also rogue 2 wizard X and fairly focused on necro magic. The only significant changes for the update are adding the pale master prestige enhancements and dumping dex for more con. This version also does better in the skill department thanks to some tome action, and by only taking “just enough” stealth and letting spells and gear cover the gap.

    You can’t get higher DC values than this build generates (barring true reincarnation feats) and its very good at disarming traps as well. You have almost no fighting ability what so ever and the early levels are going to be rough going. But eventually you will be something of a powerhouse given enough mana for the situation.

    Some damage casting is here just because it is incredibly handy in mid game quests. Spell penetration should be better than most, although not the absolute best due to the multi classing.

    Play
    Playing this build is an exercise in patience due to the slow leveling up and what it is good at. Sneaking up, taking out key targets, planning your defenses, tackling traps, all of it requires more thinking than action.

    Variations
    You can play around with some of the feats, moving more to damage and less on spell pen. I think that takes it away from the build concept of an assassin however. Expand spell might also be fun for long distance kills.

    I assume level 1 in the leveling guide is supposed to be Rogue rather than Wizard as there is no metafeat and the skill selection seems to indicate rogue?

    Looks like fun though!

    Hey Sig

    Arkkanoz is my Wizard 14 Rogue 2 and he is definitely a blast to play. Took the 2nd Rogue level at Level 15 for playability issues, but was well worth the wait since BASE INT was thru the roof by then.

    Level 20 End build (All toons always planned as L-20 ) is probably either 18/2 or 17/3 depending if my Rogue Skills are up to par (Which currently they exceed an average 12th - 14th level Rogue anyway.)

    Just wanted to say hi and recommend the build...very useful in 6 man groups that need to have rogue skills without sacrificing a spot. (oh man I´m gonna get clobbered by the Save-the-Roguees )

    Default I love this build

    I made one similar to it and actually have several rogues who dislike to run with my wizard, because my wizard has better disable/openlock/search than they do and still casts well. It's fun. It's nice being able to leave my bard or ranger or sorc to this character when on something like STK to fill BOTH roles well.

    i love this build, have a human, but i didnt got necro, went illusion for cheap invis, and displacement & pkiller.

    enjoy playing this char so much im gonna start another
