Unfortunately when I am bored I can no longer have my gambling fights in the Desert, I mean you ever try to see 4 ghouls fight each other and try to bet on which one wins? No really, since there is a 10 min timer, there is no reason there should not be create undead scrolls at the vendor, especially if Turbine has fixed their problems. So how about it?

There is a difference between this spell and regular summons.

Summons

Summons are creature that you've summoned to our plane to fight for you. They will stay loyal unless dispelled, and they will leave the plane after a certain time.

Create undead

When you create undeads, you actually create them: they are not brought in from another plane, they are created and there to stay. Until they die. But, they don't remain loyal for long.
The thing is, with creative play, you can actally charm these undead after they broke, using charm undead OR control undead. Since, unlike summoned pets, they don't leave for some other plane, you could accumulate these pets.
Summon 4 ghast. Charm them as they break. Create 4 more. Charm them... etc etc etc.
A single guy could build an army.
Unlike regular charms, where it is impossible to have 2 at any time.

I know cause i loved to do it, specially with no timer on scrolls. Summon a dozen mummies, and you can solo a lot of quests.
I guess they caught on undead generals like me and decided to act upon it.

There is no way i'll take this spell on my sorc, and for wizards, well, it needs a special components. The spell is dead now. With just the timer, you could still use it from time to time, and there is no way you'd make a solid army with 1 cast per 10 minutes. Oh well.

just an fyi, sorcs can have 2 summons at a time

how do they summon two? they summon one, timer expires with still half duration left on 1st summon, cast 2nd summon, etc

example

time 0 cast summon monster 1
30 secs cast summon monster #2
30-60 secs two summons active
60 secs 1st summon expires, cast #3
60-90 secs two summons active
etc

obviously works better with the longer lasting ones so youre not constantly casting it, but hope you get the idea at least. it works off the fact that sorcs recast timer is halved compared to other casters.

yes. scrolls have an equivalent timer to other casters. you have to cast it as a sorc spell.

Seriously man. We used to have 2x mummy vs troll. You think I am actually going to take this spell on my sorc just to have a little fun when there is nothing to do? Nope.
