Ran a Shroud this morning after the hotfix to the hotfix for the sudden patch. As far as I can tell, there is drastic improvement. 4 Dancing balls, everything active in part 2, Web, everyone swinging, mass heals, target specific heals, only one little bump of lag, and really not noticable save for I was turning.
So, in short, I believe they MIGHT have tested this one, or got lucky. Either way, it was playable.
Didn't do anything else, had another game that opened it's beta today that has my attention. What a wonderful time for Turbine to FUBAR things, LoL.
Eh, see you guys in game, when I am not elsewhere.
I did a Coalescence Chamber solo run and on the second climb back up the mixture of all the living critters were making upwards of ~4 second lag delay on actions. Before the 6.1 patch the same amount of critters caused no lag when I did this as a solo run.
The increased monster-causing-monster-to-search radius and whatever else they tacked on to the monster AI is still causing more server-based lag than we originally had.

Sorry, wasn't meant to be an underhanded dig. When I posted that, I hadn't known of the patch, LoL. But, to be honest here, at least their QA found and fixed something.
Even if there is a longer delay, I can wait. I might hop into DDO and do some things with my freinds, but that is what makes my day, my freinds. Yes, I suppose if they jumped off a bridge, I might follow. It sounds like fun. (Humor here, sorry if it is taken seriously).
But yeah, they put a patch in and delayed the login times by a few hours, not too bad considering that they didn't try to RUSH something into place. Unlike, well, here. LoL.
FIrst, Making comments about not rushing a game to market that hasnt actualy been released yet is silly. you have NO idea of whats in store when they do push that other game live. and my bet is, just like every other MMO, there wil be many complaints about it not being complete....
Second, the Vale is MUCH better.. I ran around with my cleric this moring just kiting mobs... I must of had 2 dozen Orthons, Devils, Trols, and cats on me at one point and didnt hit a bit of lag at all.... Got my Blade barriers down and was able to wipe em out without incident....
So thats a good sign.
Hmmm, seems I used the word "Opened" meaning, or giving the impression of past tense, which would be incorrect. If that is it, then you are correct, and it was intended to mean "WILL BE", which would still be incorrect because it really should be "SHOULD BE". So , eh, ok.
As far as putting things out too quickly, don't go there, you can not prove one way or another that Turbine QA tested the original patch or the Hotfix to that patch. At least elsewhere, an urge does not "SEEM" to be taken lightly, and it is the overall quality that "SEEMS" to be what is important.
Tell you waht, I will post back here when I am actualy "Logged In" to the other "Possibly" opening option.
Perhaps that is a little better, and again, you were right, I used past tense and it should not have been.
I totally agree the DDO Hotfix Friday Night was a disaster. It very much should of ben playtested at least on Risia before going live. Never a doubt or question there.
My point is that you absoulutly cannot praise a game for not being releasted too early before its even released. You MUST wait till its actually released.. OUT of Beta and inb Open Enrolement befor eyou can pass judgement.
I agree with you, very true. If I posted that the "OTHER" game was superior, allow me to rephrase what my intent is/was.
My intent was that: At this point in time, although prior to live release of actual game, there is an appearance of concern in doing it right. That appearance shows follow up actions, and preventative actions, and communication throughout the proccess of taking said actions.
We do not have that here. I am still a paying member, and will be for a few more months, maybe longer if, after actual release I turn out to be unhappy. Now, after actual release, it remains to be seen if the continued support is there, which I hope it remains very close to what is there right now. I/We shall see. (We refers to all who look to see, no one person or group specific).
Agreed, actualy, I am anxious to see if they listen to the feedback provided from the Open Beta. Guess we will see. Even if it isn't acted upon by launch, I just want to see if they respond.
Edited for a stupid spelling error, sorry.

Don't hold your breath. Fixing is what Closed Beta is used for, Open Beta is more for stress testing. What we see when we log on tonight will likely be exactly what we see on the 20th.
In any case, it's up now and while I plan on enjoying this new game, I'll be dropping it like hot cheese @8pm for my DDO raid.![]()
Actualy, I am enjoying this. It is a welcome change to scene. LoL. I believe you will also, but it takes a little getting used to.
Note: This impacted the entire party - not just one person
Shroud Part 1 tonight - finger of death on my sorc started not going off near the end of the 1st part, it appeared to be affecting the mobs (save or not) only about half of the casts. Clerics were saying destruct was even worse.
Shroud Part 2 - pulled all the mobs and took them on at once, lag seemed a little worse than pre-hot fixes, but doable.
Shroud part 4 tonight 10:20 PM EST
Lagged when pit fiend showed up, I was stuttering across the room, about 2 feet per step. Lost all 4 tanks instantly at the same time - the clerics were healing and spells did not land. Roughly a 5 second delay for the party. Not a lot of AOE up at the time, disco and mindfog (1 of each). Gave up.
End result, lag is better but can still show up and wipe the party at random times. Overall lag is better than before today's patch, but worse than it was before the ill-fated hotfixes.
