    Default Half-Orcs + Monkey Grip....oh the thought!!

I have a dream......of Half-Orcs + Monkey Grip. Dare I say, if added to the game, just how many new builds would be popping up. Oh the though....how it makes me smile Could it really happen? Would it be to hard? Please add your thoughts.

    Sincerely,

    Sokar

So you could weild a Greatsword while using a shield for less damage? Or a Greataxe with shield for less damage? Thinking you are one of those folks who don't get exactly how Monkey Grip works....

I know how it worked in NWN. Straight up baddass. We could have Warforged (and halfys lol) runnin around with 2 big ass Cloudbursts!!! PnP had something about off hand penalty or main hand only but I don't care just gimme the overpowered videogame version everything else here is anyway.

Not missing it Gol, I just happen to know how it works and how it doesn't work

Most gimped feat in PnP is the general consensus on the WoTC forums, says it all.

And...what you see in NWN...not how the feat works in 3.5..probably not how it actually worked in 3.0 since the people who did the feat do have a rather bad habit of seriously overpowering things for their own benefit, a habit admitted to more than once by those same people. I applaud the work they've done and are still doing(believe it or not, they are STILL updating PrC for NWN!), used it many times on worlds I worked on/for and have torn into their code more times than I want to count making it work with other mods/scripts and fixing their little overpowered ideas of feats/classes/spells to make them actually usable on a non-powergaming world

In 3.5 allows you to use large(or medium for small characters)versions of a weapon at -2 to hit. So you can use a large longsword in one hand or a large greatsword in 2 hands at -2 to hit. The 3.0 version allowed you to use a greatsword in one hand at a -2 to hit. Even using the 3.0 version, you could dual wield greataxes or greatswords, but you'd take an additional -2 penalty for each hand. So with TWF you're at -6/-6, and with OTWF and TWF you're at -4/-4. And since you're only using them 1 handed, you still only get a 1 to 1 bonus for Power Attack.

Or you could make a dwarf and dual wield dwarven axes (1d10 vs. 1d12) at -4/-4 with TWF or -2/-2 with TWF and OTWF. If you wanted a half-orc, you could take EWP bastard sword for a 1d10 or go with a khopesh for 1d8 and a x3 crit. Niether of them take a to hit penalty and use the same 1 to 1 ratio for Power Attack. So you trade a feat and +2 to hit in either hand for 1d2 damage. Also you have to split your stats so that you can qualify for TWF and get a high enough Str so that the to hit penalties don't hurt too badly, or take 11 levels of Ranger. It might be useful for the SoS, but that's about it.

I'll keep my dual tier 3 mineral khopeshes on my TWF dwarven ranger. We already have weapons that are better than dual weilding greataxes, so who cares??

Does anyone have any idea as to the possibility of the Devs adding Monkey Grip to this game? I for one would LOVE to see it ingame. Just think it would be crazy fun.
