    Default help with haggle

hi, i've made a bard just for haggle, and a few rogue skills to help with traps.

I'm looking for special items or skills that will boost haggle.

I know their are like rings of haggling etc. and then there's focusing chant, but basically i'm looking for the fastest way to boost haggle to the max.

    currently i'm 3/1 Bard/Rogue (drow)

my Cha is currently 20 (unbuffed, no cha items)
    my haggle is 17

i'd like to get it to 60 by the time I reach level 16...

    help would be appreciated.

There arn't any quickie shortcuts. Probably the largest early haggle item is the coin belt which is a delera's tomb reward. You will need a few levels on you to get that or use it.

You can use action boost to increase haggle just before you hit the sell button which should help a little bit.

I haven't built a haggle-bot but off the top of my head. I'm sure I'm missing something:

    Feats:

Skill Focus: Haggle for a +3.

    Items:
The best Haggle items in game currently are I believe +15 items (as with all skills).
On top of that a shroud-crafted item can give you +6 to your CHA skills (including Haggle).
Luck Items (like Rabbit Gloves (Tangleroot?) for +1 or Head of Good Fortune from Reaver for +2 skills).

    CHA:

Obviously you'll want to max your CHA and have a +2 CHA tome (if not a +3).
Another shroud-crafted item could give you a +3 exceptional CHA bonus (beyond other CHA adders).
That same item (or another) can give you +6 CHA.

    Spell boosts:

GH spell gives a +4 skill boost.
Focusing chant an addition +1 boost.

    At level 16 then:

    19 ranks
    +3 Skill Focus
    +2 Luck bonus
    +6 CHA Skill bonus (crafting)
    +15 Haggle item
    ----
    45
+10 CHA bonus (assuming CHA of 30, can probably get higher)
    ----
    55
    +4 GH
    +1 Focussing Chant
    ----
    60

As for getting MAX haggle drow cannot hit the highest numbers but can to quite well (Human Versatilty Skill boost is the missing link).

Max CHA +12 (baring raid gear or +3 tome)
    Max Ranks +19
    Max Haggle Item +15

    That is 46 right there.
    Toss in GH for +4
Toss in Focusing Chant for +1
    Toss in Luck Item +2
    Toss in Haggle Enhancements +4

That brings you to 57 before any feats or outside spells or one shot items like Alchemetical CHA pots

You can access the guide for max haggle here.

I have seen some other threads, but this one is pretty good. Although Shroud items could add to this as well.

I thought the Coin Belt come out of the Threnal series. Regardless it's pretty easy to find >+10 haggle items on the AH once you get high enough in level.

That thread is way out of date and suggests using enhancements that don't exist anymore.

Here is the current max haggle that I know of:
    L16 Human Bard
    19 ranks
    15 charisma (18 base + 4 levels + 6 item + 3 bard + 3 tome + 3 greensteel + 1 Abbot raid item + 2 eagle potion = 40)
    15 item
    6 greensteel goggles
    5 human skill boost
    4 bard haggle enh
    4 greater heroism
    3 eagles skill potion
    3 skill focus feat
    2 negotiator feat
    2 Head of moderate fortification
    2 Inspire competence
    1 focusing chant
    = 81 haggle

One thing I'm not sure on: do multiple tiers of eagle potions stack? If so, that would push the max haggle to 84.

HV doesn't stack with rogue boost, so this drow build will only be 2 off a human maxed for haggle. This isn't a big enough difference to notice.

I disagree, but I buy more heal scrolls than anyone else in the game. (2 haggle points ~= 500 plat per stack of heals)

I'm assuming eagle potion is something besides eagle's splendor (which is an enhancement bonus)?

Correct. I'm referring to the collectible trade-ins, which have two main varieties: a skill bonus and a stat bonus. Both stack with everything. I know there are different levels of the potions, but I do not know if the levels stack with each other (meaning, does eagle's skill +1 stack with eagle's skill +2? Not willing to waste potions to find out).

I would doubt they do, but who knows! I would gladly donate some +1's for the test, as I have a ton of those...

Maybe next time I shop at QwijyMart I will tip you a few

Good info though, as my Bard is almost level 13 and I wondered when she was going to pass my lvl 16 Sorcy (with Shroud items).

True, but any time a bard sees another bard in a shop, they should always hit each other with Inspire Competence. You don't normally do that?

I always try to hit other bards, and will check others (if only a few in the shop for GH and drop that on them too). Bard figures it is his way to help beat the MAN at his game....undercut ALL pricing...
