Default i WILL have to get a new computer

some 6 weeks ago i talked about looking into upgrading my current computer..
my local computer dealer, (the people who built it). tell me that they built it hopeing that various computer companies would go on into bigger things. in the past 6 years those companies have gone by the way side and my computer has been left in a unneek obsolessants. It runs well for 2002- 2006 programs, but will need to be replaced completely.

so i have seen some of your post's telling of this game on the playstation system?? the idea of either a whole new computer for 1,000- 3,000 dollars or just getting a PS2 or PS3 for 150 - 400 dollars. what should i do? either way will i be reloading my game account to a diferent system?
The last consell game system i bought was that ATARI JAGIOUR system. with a home use PC all the time, i have very little knowledge of the nintendo, Playstation markets. would i be able to add a keyboard for typeing onto the PS2? i dont want to play DDO by two hand controller.

looking at Youtube i seen some one playing a old ATARI ST- FTL inc. game called Dungeon Master. how would i get that game? also would i be able to play Might and Magic 6,7,8 on it?

    Whoa there.......

FIrst, teh chance that DDO is gonna show up on a PS2 is non existant. THe chance that it will show up on a PS3 is almost as slim. and the chance that IF it does come to PS3 it would most likely be its own server comletely separate from out PC Servers.

You can easily transfer your account to a new PC.

Just load the game onto the new PC and enter your password and login info. DOne.

The Full Might and Magic line is available for PC. Check Ebay, amazon, etc youc an usually find older "Packs" that contain most, if not all of em for liek $20. Havnet seen Dungeon Master in a Long time though.

6 Years out of a PC is great. The Technology generally is replaced every 2-3 years so youve skipp at least 2 generations of hardware changes.

You can build a High end system today for well under $3000 and for $1k you can build a system that will exceed all of DDO's specs by a large margin.

Default Thank you for the PS2-3 answer

on the technicalls page there is a PS2 notice. i jumped to conclusions there. sorry
Might and Magic-- i hope when i buy it that it is windows 2002 XP formated. there are a lot of old atari st games i would like to play.
goto youtube and look for dungeon master. you'll see a guy playing it fast paise, but dose not show HOW he is getting the game.

this is a giant wish list. has anyone done a catagory of all D&D games the game, who made it, what system it was for and if it is playable today.

What exactly would WIndows 2002 XP FOrmated be? If you mean RUn natively in XP, then the first few definatly will not. It will run n a Dos Shell. THat how they were originally coded and that show they run.

THere are Plenty of Atari ST/AMiga Emulators out there. THis is probobly not the right place to discuss those though. You can pretty much find any piece of software if ya look hard enough. http://www.classic-pc-games.com/amig...on_master.html

(BTW, the ST and AMiga were essentially the same machine..... I was an Amiga guy so thats what I know best.... Dungeon Master won lots of awards and I was an aditc back in the late 80's early 90's)

Default I have the irigenal game disk for DM2 skullkeep

my local computer dealer tells me it would Never run on my current computer. please understand i'm not able to follow computer programing dos code instructions. i have seen those web sites that do down loads for emulators like Dosbox. funny they never provide a reall telephone number so people could get a tecky walk through guide, to learn to get them to work. besides emulators?? walk into a bestbuy or compusa store and talk about emulators and they will say, that those programs are illeagal. i would rather buy a game formated for the window XP and not have to do a web site run around.

Well, then your going to have to buy an Atari ST or Amiga to Play Dungeon Master.

The link I provided has a Link through to a perfectly leagel Boxed Amiga Emulator Suite.

Best Buy does not carry every pieceof software ever released..... THey carry stuff that sells in mass quantities. People who want to play 18+ Year old outdated games are a pretty small group to cater to dont ya think?

No Offense, But your "Local Compute dealer" is a moron. Not a surprise actually. Most of em just employ teens who think a PC is still for WORD and Wii is teh UBERZ!

    Very true.

Heck, if you shopped around on the internet, I'll bet you could get one shipped to you for under $700 (without a monitor), that would play games like DDO just fine, and much better than the old one. Might not exceed DDO's specs by a large margin, but you'd probably be good for another couple of years.

I've done exactly that - for two years, I've played the game on a system that cost me $600 (INCLUDING the monitor) and played it quite well. The idea that you "need" to spend in the four-figure area for the game to be "playable" is incomprehensible to me. The only intrinsic upgrade I've done since the game came out was to get a new video card for $100 (I got a honkin' big monitor for $250, but that truly wasn't NECESSARY - just for fun), and I'm probably going to upgrade the processor for about the same amount in the next few months.

Moral of the story: shop smart and PATIENT, and you won't "need" to spend ridiculous amounts of money. Doesn't mean you SHOULDN'T spend that much if that's what makes you happy (let's face it - how many of us would NOT drool over one of those high-end rigs? ), but you just don't need to.
