what hes saying that for the general population, once you get experienced with something, do it becomes a chore and you'll just want to get it done quickly.

your idea is good but with a huge flaw. you are tying a group to the slowest member.

key point here? the star determines the playstyle, if you are the star, do whatever you like at whatever speed you want. but if the star is with someone else, then FOLLOW

Ah.. 'My idea' was a joke.. to make a point.. Good Gods if Turbine was crazy enough to tie the group to any one player I'd hope it would at least be party leader.. not that I can think of any valid reason to do so.. And while in the strictest sense the star has control of the party it's not as simple as you seem to think.. I can't tell you how many pugs I've tired of repeatedly telling someone to stay with the group and not run ahead.. sure I could dump that guy out of the group but somehow I don't think repeatedly dumping people out of My groups for zerging is going to increase My chances of filling a group.

There is no need to defend your game play style. While I was (am?) disparing over the majority pug archtypes My questions were not intended to say any one way is better than another. I find it a little amusing that there have always been so many heated conversations over zerging.. are there times when going as fast as you can is appropriate? sure. Of course. Are there times when it's not? absolutely. Would the game suck if you didn't have a choice? I'm sure most people who love to zerg the quests would be very upset if they logged on tomorrow and found it impossible, what if Turbine installed some new code that kept you linked to the slowest member of your party no matter what? Like being out of range of your soul stone only you're not dead? *L* I can just imagine it.. you run ahead of the slow pokes and suddenly our teleported back to the group.. *LMAO* wouldn't that make you mad?

I prefer not to zerg a quest and I'd be ticked off. I asked several questions in the op and the point of it all was to find out if there are still people who like to run a quest the way My core group and I do. As it turns out the answer is Yes. They may not be the majority, and they may not be who you're going to get in a nightly pug.. but they are still out there.

I think if a game like DDO ever becomes all of one type of player it'll be far less attractive to play. Be it all classic D&D folks or newage online mmorpg zergamaniacs.

I am the Mistress of Recruitment for Deathwatch Guard and I can tell you that not all of us are zergers. Sure, there are times that we just want to run through a quest, but that is only when the entire party agrees. I love to do complete a quest as a group and work together and have it take longer. I hate getting in a group where you enter the quest and someone is halfway done - it drives me INSANE.

i find it funny that everytime some one talks about a slower playstyle, PD must come in.

PD always comes in because we are all recruitment *****s, need new blood to keep the dice gods happy and well fed
