Lainney Reaver Pinball

I would like to thank everyone who join in the 1st ever Lainney Reaver Pinball. I would also like to thank Lainney personally as she was great fun with being the pinball. We managed to shot her out 11 times in. I know some will say why would anyone be willing to die 11 times in a quest well I can simply say you must know Lainney to understand that. After letting the Reaver kill all of us we reformed lost a couple of CLR's then put another LFM up for CLR only Reaver raid.

CLR Only Reaver

Many times during the LFM period we changed it to say different things "1500 GP Heal Scroll, Raise Dead spell 30 SP, Do you know where your clr is at Priceless" To Respect your Clr" to "CLR's on Strike" All during this time some of us where getting tells saying that we were "stupid" or that "dam it I need a clr for my shroud run" or "why are you being so greedy" While 12 CLR sat in a party and laughed and enjoyed one another. We talked about the different LFM that start showing up about "bring your own healing" to I need a "CLR Please" to "Who stole all the CLR's". I would like to thank all 12 CLR's showed up ran the CLR only Reaver. I would also like to know who the CLR was that said they were recording this and if they have posted it on YouTube yet.

Aftermath

Many people know of Othea and Herra. Well Last night we joined a Shroud run ran by dualaxes (sorry if spelling is incorrect). I will say that I am very shocked with not 1 but 3 people came up to handed over 250 heal scrolls. One of them said they saw the LFM and agreed with it. They said that CLR's should strike more often and maybe people would be willing to hand over Cash or scrolls or something to help offset the cost. Was this the reason why where did this not really. I was more so that a group of CLR could get together and enjoy something different.

Look for More CLR only Raids and groups.

As someone who regularly plays 2 16 clerics, I think this is rather silly. My clerics always make money even in the roughest of shroud runs. Most runs only call for about 10-30 heal scrolls costing maybe 5-6k plat which is easily covered by the loot. The pools in shroud were put there so clerics don't whine. Use them and use them efficiently so you rarely have to break the scrolls out unless your groups DPS is that low. Then scrolls come out after the pools turn into portals/blades if the fight goes that long. I feel bad when someone gives me 20 scrolls or something that ends up not being used.

Sometimes I even find myself blowing just as much money on potions and wands on my tanks...

Now if I had to buy pots and scrolls? Pfft, don't heal me I'll heal myself

I agree with Eurytos, I dont see the problem most clrs have and I play my clr the most out of all my toons. I never accept donations and only go through about 100 heal scrolls in a week even if im in a bad pug shroud run. I probably make the most off my cleric to since I sack all the vale missions every week. I probablly do spend more on my non-casters buying pots and use about just as many heal scrolls. Looks at link Shroud Completion - One Cleric Run where Artec and I were scroll healing from our paladins for p5 and I doubt our cleric had to use much heal scrolls himself and it was just as smooth and fast as a normal 2/3 clr group. All I can say is you must not be using SP efficiently or your in a group with shouldnt even be in there (DPS to low for shroud 4 lol) if your running out of SP or going over 20 scrolls for p4. I think the bigger problem for you to strike about is those that can heal themselves but take no effort to costing you sp/pp hehe.

I have never seen herra or othea request scrolls, and they heal rather well with little to no sp waste imo But your right shroud runs dont take 300 scrolls, but our litte band of hack and slashers run multiple shroud runs at a time, usually ransacking it or comming close before moving on to other raids so whats 10 shroud raids x 30-80 scrolls a pop each run depending on group dps and personal healing? and thats not counting any of the elite vale runs like devils and coal that take several scrolls if group has problems. No my clerics not broke, shes actually the money holder of my account, but if i never accepted donations and no one ever helped out she might be bankrupt. Thankfully a few help out here and there and our friend groups share scrolls and whatnot to keep costs down, so my bankroll is there for the runs that dont donate, or when qwijy isnt on.

Last but not least - we didnt run the clr only raid to anger people, or to force more donations out of them, we did it to have a little fun instead of the constant grind to craft/lvl/loot/ZERG!. We got together and laughed, we failed first run out cause it was too much fun to stop and actually kill the reaver for completion. sorry a few shroud groups and others were left out because no healing...but are you saying there were only 12 clerics online on the whole server? if so seriously fellas we need some more people to roll healers 12 high lvl clerics are not enough to constantly support late night runs server wide. I say well done clerics....i was ressed killed ressed killed ressed killed better than ever before! and a big thanks to herra and othea who organized the run, ran it, and tossed me some help repairing the dragonscale i idiotically wore into a expected multiple death run LOL Note to self - by set of +5 fp for next death run. Thanks to trill for reaching the res lever as well! Good Job! HEY CLERICS!!!!!!!!!! Lets break 15 lainney deaths next time yea?

What part of the above quote do you not understand. I never was doing this for opening peoples eyes nor was I do this for cash or scrolls (hence I was very shocked). What part of the last line is hard to understand. I think I even said that the 12 clr where laughing and having a good time at it. Will I turn down scrolls of cash when I play my clr sometimes I do when i didn't really use any. I mean if I wanted to be a upset about things I could have gotten upset about the tells I got about people B**ching about us taking all the clr's but I didn't do that. I allowed it to roll off my shoulders.

I totally understand that it was just for fun, I joined aussie's all sorc titan run a few weeks back and that probably left a few groups haste-less. I just ask that you keep it that way instead of denying that your LFM messages and "strike" give the impression that you guys are asking for help with expenses.

That part.

Whether or not that was the main motive is irrelevant when your LFM messages and "strike" imply that clerics require assistance with expenses. You're stealing from the poor gullible tanks that think you're going broke

As a cleric, I don't want or need your hand outs. I need you tanks to do your dps just as much as you need me to heal you. I appreciate the gesture, but do yourself a favor and use that money on elemental protection potions and the like.

Just finished a Shroud elite completion run. Part 1-3, 7 heal scrolls, Part 4, 53 heal scrolls, Part 5, 115 heal scrolls.
Total Cost of Scrolls: 175*146 (14600 a stack from bard in group)= 25550 out of pocket
Repairs: 1k
Loot: I got 14k out of the stuff I scrapped. I also pulled a +2 paralyzing great axe of shatter and a +1 paralyzing bastard sword of maiming, 2 larges, 2 small, 2 mediums.

Outcome: I more than broke even, on elite even after an 11 man part 5 because 1 tank hand to run.

edit: I was also healing a warforged without healers friend taking only 92hp from my non stop heal scroll casting. Yet I'm still in the green.

i'd like to post something different but related.

all who know me knows that when i'm on my clr, i'm crazy like she is. i've so far made a few non "tank" runs in reaver. no i wasnt on strike or anything like that, i just want to have FUN. twice i got groups together, rogues, rangers, clerics, sorcs, wizs, bards, just no pally, fighters or barbs. both times, more than 1/2 of the group comprised of casters and cleric (1 run had 4 clr 3 sorcs, 4 wiz).

very quicky i recieved tells. "why are you wasting the flags of so many clerics and casters?", "you only need 1 clr n 1 caster, the other 10 can be melees", etc

like what KenKan mentioned, sometimes we just want to have fun. yesterday in my runs, i let a bard tank it, we did fine. i had another run where i asked to tank on my clr, we did fine. but previously, whenever i ask to tank the reaver, i was turned down. some were polite, i dun mind these. but others were not. some made snide remarks, "a clr only needs to heal", "sure when i can heal, you can tank", "look! wrong icon, play the right game please". if its done in jest i'll happily play along. but the tone of all those who said these had nothing but tons of sarcasm and insult.

ddo is a very people's game. respect is just what some of these player are looking for. it doesnt mean if we have the blue flame next to our names, we have to play to accomodate your style.

ps: include me in pin ball runs! i wanna get lainney more deaths

Side note: I have sucessfully completed a reaver raid with no death! i swear! but i was on a rogue and hid in a corner so does that still count?
