Seriously though, I wouldnt pay 600k pp for a +2 tome, but then I am not the one with all the uber loots. Now had this still been Fernia, with that economy, I would have bought them, quick.

I would not purchase them for 600 either. How much time does it take to collect 600K PP looting? How often do +2 tomes drop. Seems to me the later is easier and I am the one that does have everything and oodles of plat to boot. I think Twerps offer is about right. 400K PP.

You represent your niche of DDO well. Value is a hard thing to nail down. Many many variables. If you earn your plat, then value for a = b. If you buy your plat(which some say isn't earning, but thats a different topic altogether) then value for a = c.

I generally look at in demand items, items the farmers will resale for big money. Take a +2 tome. 800-1mill on AH last time i checked. My formula is to cut in half, and add a little. Chances are a plat farmer will buy it out then resell it at his base value he wants for it on the AH.

But selling that way comes with inherent losses, so I decided to utilize some forum advice and see if my formula is accurate or not.

AH prices are extremely overvalued and inflated, in my experience. Actual value of things, like vorpals and such, that drop so frequently now are not nearly what they would cost one on the AH. Such seems to be the case with tomes.

One way I look at things is...what would I have to auction to get my 600k back and is it worth more or less than a +2 tome? I'm pretty sure I could make 600k off of a couple things I consider about equal value to the tome.
