Unhappy Can't (W)alk have to (R)un! ANY IDEAS

I run vista home on a 1.3 dual with 4 gig of memory. Here is the problem. When i hold down the W key to walk and move my mouse a loop begins where i keep walking and the mouse movements are very slow and jerky. When i release the W key it's like a repeat key or something because I keep running for several seconds and then any mouse movements made during the walk is made so i end up running aginst walls or off ledges... completely out of control.
So to get around I toggle the R key to run because i can move the mouse and move. But now finally at level 11 i need to be able to make some pretty dextiours moves and cannot.

    Any suggestions?

Don't know how to help you, however I gave up on trying to walk along time ago. Never worked right for me either.....

Unfortunately your system does not even meet the minimum system requirements and is "kissing" microsoft's requirements for vista. This may be causing the problem - a lack of system resources.

I only use about 50% of my system resources during gameplay.

While that may be so, unfortunately we cannot guarantee the game will operate properly below the minimum specs. You can try lowering the engine speed in the troubleshooting tab (ingame)

    Minimum System Requirements:
P4 1.6 GHz or AMD equivalent Processor with SSE
    512 MB RAM
64 MB Hardware T&L-compatible video card
    56.6 K modem
    Windows® XP, DirectX® 9

I was able to run DDO with a P4 1.4Ghz, 640MB RDRAM, and a ATI 9800 XT card w/ 128MB. i had to run it on the lowest graphics settings to be able to get decent loading times, but i was able to keep my engine speed maxed. Some of my loading times were slow (gianthold) but once I was in i didnt really have any problems. perhaps lowering your graphics settings will help the way it helped me.
