Scimitars rule supreme as smiters doing crits of 15-20. Tho viscious, this weapon smites so often that unless duel wielding them it's not a major factor. This, of coarse, is an opinion.

I have the equivalent of a +4 holy silver battleaxe in terms of Pit Fiend usage (the obvious context here):

+2 trans battleaxe of lawful outsider bane
lvl 10, no RR, no dam

Think about it: +4 / bypass DR / extra 2d6 bane damage from this combo. So like I said the equiv of +4 holy/silver.
