I think its maybe not going to work since I think hand axes are martial aren't they? And I would have to confirm the 20...

handaxe is indeed martial only, but it is finessable, and really vorpals work on a 20 so having -4 to hit is not going to hurt that much, except when confirming the crit

Akro, just because it's finessable doesn't mean you can finesse it with only a -4 to hit. In order to finesse the weapon you must be proficient with or your to-hit will still be based upon your strength. I speak from experience since I my rogue was once the owner of a vorpal kama that couldn't be finessed until I picked up the feat.

One more thing, in order to vorpal you to both roll a natural 20 and then confirm the critical, which means you'll want to have a pretty good to-hit bonus and maybe even a bloodstone to enable you to confrim the critical.

watch the AH I recently picked up a Vorpal Sickle to match up with the one I have on loan from a guildie. I know there was another one on there the other nite.

Bolded type is absolutely wrong. A Finessable Weapon is a Finesable weapon. My Rogue used a Vorpal Kama WAY before I took the Proficency with nothing other than the -4 NonProficiency Penalty.

If you Dual Weild, the Penalty can be easily made up.... Use a Seeker +4 or Better in your Off hand. The seeker Bonus applies to your main hand weapon as well.

I remember picking up the feat specifically to offset this and then my to-hit numbers were accurate. This may have been a display bug, but it's my recollection none-the-less. I dumped the feat when I obtained a Kukri (have martial proficiency with 1 level of ranger) and never looked back.

Cant say for sure whether there was ever a Display bug or not, but FInessable weapons always have gone off your Dex modifier regardless of Proficiency.

All 'light' catagory weapons are finessable, but finesse only applies IF you take the feat or the weapon has the Finesse feat on it, and I'm pretty sure it's impossible to have a weapon with Finesse and Vorpal prefixes on it, short of a named item. So if you have a finessable weapon and don't have the Finesse feat, you use your Str bonus for AB, not Dex, that's rather the point of taking the feat after all.

Try the AH, see the occasional vorpal sickle in there..but the prices are usually stupid so...*shrug*

My rogue uses dual vorpal kamas...in fact so does my w/p ranger and my bard. What you lose in the -4 for lack of kama proficiency you make up in mere chances to vorpal....swinging dual vorps with a finesse toon is like turning on the foodprocessor and an added bonus is also that you do very little to no damage and never draw aggro onto your squishy little butt Plus nothing looks cooler than a kama...

PS I have been stocking up on these ala Davey and w/p rapiers...I am up to 22 vorpal kamas....when monks come out I will be like Ted Turner rich!!!! /em rubs grubby paws together
