Mod 7: DPS Rogue

BaB does play a part in this, because of the effect it has on attack speed. All my last post was concerning was getting the raw speed to help in the comparison of TWF to THF.

The whole part about average damages and all that was an example, not an actual comparison. I was just making the point that TWF is going to outdamage THF on any enemie they are getting constant SA on, but that THF will catch up or exceed when not getting constant SA. Sure, weapon effects are going to make a difference, but i wasnt getting that in depth, i'll repeat i was interested in getting the exact, current comparison in speed between TWF and THF.

Also note, THF isnt dependent on feats. The feats only give you more glancing blows, and increase the damage of these glancing blows. Im not sure how much a rogue would want the glancing blows, with the possible aggro magnets they can be, along with gaining aggro from your main target faster.

At this point, having not been able to play for the last 2 weeks(screen blew out on my PC and the laptop i have cannot run the game) im going to have to catch up on my mains, and am stockpiling for monks. Needless to say, actually building this rogue is rather low on my to-do list. Hell, im now wondering if we could actually get something worthwhile out of a rogue with quarterstaffs.

Well, it's common knowledge THF 5 attack kills the chain, so maybe I over looked over that part. Any decent thf will be twitching. Thf does depend on feats, or twf wins hands down. My comments had nothing to do with you playing a thf rog, that's your play style. It has to do with comparing twf to thf for a rogue as being closer than I think... it's just not there. If thf were where it was at dps wise, you would not see so many twf barbs. In Shade's own build titled max dps something or other, it's a twf'er. The damage difference just becomes compounded as a rog.

actually, he plays the same build with both THF and TWF, and has said himself that its comparable.
