lightin rod?

just wonderin if anyone could tell me where to pick one up? I got one somehow on one server... I want it on another server. also whats a decent price to expect to pay for one if I don't feel like farming it?

The lightening rod is at the end of Von4 there is always one there and only one so whoever gets there and picks it up it is theirs...

I've seen em on the broker for around 2400 plat. They are fairly common actually .. as any potency style effect on a quarterstaff is not that desirable. Why carry a lightning rod when you could have a greater potency in one hand and a lightning lore in the other?

thankie much that happins to be the server I'm lookin for one on. I seen one last night on the AH for 30k gold and was trying to decide if it was worth it or not. decided to ask today and get a feel for the price and if I could go get one myself. my char is a wiz by the name of kaliko.

as for sup potency and 2 weapons with bonuses... the onyl potency item I been able to find (even thru lookin at the AH a few times) was the one I started with. figured if I got the lightin rod on one server... it be fairly easy to get one on the other server.

Keep looking! I do keep a lightning rod mostly cuz it looks cool and if i need to melee i guess i could use it but it's pretty useless otherwise - i've never used it in a quest. I have found all kinds of stuff for my wiz on the AH - potency IV (most folk sprob won't sell their hi level sup potency items), greater spell pen V, magi, fire/ice lore etc.... I've specced my wiz almost completely from the Ghallanda AH and have even accidentally bought duplicates of some stuff so I know good stuff is out there.

Make sure you are looking at clubs, daggers, sickles, maces - all in your level range (or next level range so you can spec out immediately when you level). All these weapons you can dual wield (remember you are not meleeing with them so attack penalties don't matter) and get more effects (up to 4) from two weapons than you can from a quarter staff. Plus you can make weapons sets and dual wield different combinations to make whatever you are casting next more powerful.

Again, keep looking on the AH and at the House D vendors and you'll find some good stuff at a good price that will do way more for you than the lighting rod.

that helps abit... I had not looked at maces or sickles just clubs and daggers. also it seams anythign that is halfway decent will require my having a supply of money(either bought or suplied by an alt) and I ain't got either. but I normaly check every few days just incase there sumin in my price range that I can use. plus I'm still learnign exactly what can be usefull. I figured the 40% would make useing shocking grasp and lightin bolt usefull. and sence it was just electric I figured it would be in my price range

It is a very nice item for a lowbie arcane! A decent weapon and a nice dps booster for shocking grasp.. I twinked my sorc with one and retired it around level seven...

lol well I'm almost lvl 7 and just looking to get my hands on one. so I guess its not twinking... but I still think its the best item I will be able to get my hands on for a while.

Sorry to sound so jaded!! My sorc was fire-specced.. if you keep electrical spells in rotation it is still a very nice item...

lol sorry I just found it funny ya were getting rid of the item I wanted aroudn the time I'm trying to pick it up. as for electrical spells. I've never used them before. I made a wiz so that I could learn the spells and learn the best way to do things, maybe find some decent item to pass off to a sorc once I know what I'm doing and have drow unlocked.
