    When the lag due to packet loss gets up to 40% packet loss, I go ahead and QUIT. I wait a few more minutes, and maybe get the word that they're close to finishing from somebody and bring the game back up.

    It's never thrown me into the harbor out of the instance. I come back with packet loss still, but usually it's down into the 20% range and rapidly dropping.
    Odd, that's when it arguably should kick you out to avoid exploits....

    It is known to the GMs and it is a "feature" working as intended, not a bug.
