    Default Cleric Items and Gear

First, thanks in advance for the information..

I have been gone from DDO for a while and am interested in knowing about what is some good items and gear for a cleric.
IE what quest should I be doing to better my tangleroot equipped level 12 cleric.

First would be are there any static quest where one might find a good spell point item.. currently I am using the Wiz II trinket from tangleroot.. I hear rumors that there is better out there now.

I am doing some searching through the forums but any information or directions to quest or items I should be looking toward would be appreciated.. thanks

The reaver raid gives some must have gaunlets for clerics and you can collect tapestries to get a nice helm. Both improve your healing and healing crit chance.

As stated, the reaver guantlets are nice for a cleric .

I'd add that the Blue Dragon armor is very worth getting - but for a newly returned player, you might end up waiting on that a bit ..

Also, once you get Shroud-flagged, you can craft an item with Wizardry VI, Wisdom+6 and +50 exceptional spellpoints (goggles, bracers, gloves, boots, cloak, belt, necklace all work)

Some more Realistically obtainable gear would be...

Shard of Vollurn WIz3 Trinket - Drops in one of the Desert Quests.... Usualy on the AH Pretty cheap)
    or
PoPX - Getting CHeaper now that Everyone is getting Wiz6+ Outof the Shroud

WIz 5-6 helm are also very affordable.

SUperior Potency Item! If you havent played in a while, uyou may not know that Potency effect Healing spells too. SUp 5 and 6 are getting very comon.

Fearsome Armor. (FOrget AC, Get into SOme Fearsome! Of course, you want the best you can get your hands on, but I'd wear a +3 Fearsome Padded Armor w/ a 8 Dex over a +5 Ful Plate)

Thanks - Good information - I am in a good guild not sure what all we are raiding yet but we are doing titan so will have to check to see if we are doing other stuff.. The crafting sounds interesting - I will research more on it.

Great that is what I need - specifics so I can direct my time into going for what I need.

I guess I need to spend some time and make a little money and check the Auction HOuse.
I did not know that potency worked with Healing Also.

Can you explain why you recommend the fearsome so much?
Thanks for the great specific information

    Fearsome? Because it Works.

As a Cleric, you either Want Aggro..... Or ya Dont......

I want Aggro when I'm Kiting Mobs through a Blade Barrier...

I Never want aggro any other time.....

Unfortunatly, SOmetimes it happens.. Or worse yet, While Kiting a Gaggle of mobs though a Blade Barrier, one reaches 35' in front of em and Trips me! Gah! At that Points I can lay there and Die a Horrible death, Or perhaps as they hit me they will becomed feared and Run off... Giving me precious time to rol my Save.

Fearsome is the difference between getting dead and having an extra 3 seconds to get a Heal off.

To answer your question: Currently the Fearsome does a whole lot more to get any mobs off of you and saving you from damage than the AC from some +5 full plate.

My capped cleric has the blue dragon scale armor from Gianthold but as it will be a while farming 25 scales for you I'd recommend some fearsome fulplate as well. My lowbie Cleric has some +3 fearsome full plate and some +2 full plate of invulnerability I switch between. Keep an eye open in the House K vendor and you will probably run across some fearsome armor in there.

A Potency item is a must have just keep an eye out on the AH and you should be able to pick up a potency 5 item for an affordable price.

The Gauntlets of eternity from the Storm Reaver Raid are nice but once you get your blue dragon armor are not a must have if you have better use of the slot.

As you level definitely get into the shroud but enjoy all the content you’ve missed on the way.

One itsy-bitsy footnote about fearsome. Fearsome doesn't affect undead, so for undead quests (of which there are many) carry some full plate of the highest AC bonus you can get (along with whatever prefixes or suffixes seem useful).
Some toons with Cow in the name, and some without.

Fearsome also doesn't work on vermin can't scare spiders and scorpions, i guess.

With regard to the Titan, Gyroscopic Boots. +30% striding, Balance +10. They NEVER EVER leave my cleric's feet. Beyond that the Visors of Concentration with +10 Concentration and some other stuff are solid as well.

As to fearsome, against intelligent opponents, or at least those who can be affected by fear, it simply put saves party wipes. When it all goes south and you are healing like a fiend and a mob aggros on you, often(not always) they will get a hit or two in and then go scurrying away. In a year of regular play with my cleric, his fearsome full plate has conservatively saved 50+ wipes. While the DC is not the highest on Fearsome, you would be suprised how many mobs fail their saves. Its also particularly useful on mobs that love to Cleave and Great Cleave.
    Archangels - Thelanis

    Kyrian - Dellek - Devestia - Harleaiquin - Nakano - Narizue - Xandek

True. I can't think of a quest that has only the vermin creature type in it though.

On that no-fear-on-vermin thing, I noticed an anomaly in the vale. The crimson foot spiders in the vale are susceptible to fear but they can't be influenced by intimidate or diplomacy. That weird because usually creatures that are susceptible to fear are also suceptible to diplo and intimi (except certain types of undead). Spooky huh?

For Undead Quests, I whip out the Sacred...... Most undead can easily be feared via Turn with a Reasonable CHR.

My cleric is currently using a +2 Sacred MFP of Lesser Electrical Resistance (RR:Human, ML6) that I found on the AH for 12k plat against undead. I swap that out for a +3 MFP of Light Fort in quests where my turns are used for DV's. When he reaches L10 he'll be decked out in +3 Fearsome MFP. I agree with the fearsome discussion. Could very well be the difference between last man standing and wipe. Soundburst and Command are still 2 of my favorite spells to cast. Even at L7 I can still solo a lot of quests if I want.

Noone mentioned Elfcrafted Armor! I gotta chime in here. In a pinch, while you are grinding for the Arcane Lore item, this armor is great as a substitute. Of course it's not as good as a Greater Arcane Lore, however it still affects Blade Barriers and some crit love is better than none!!!

    Just food for thought
