well I'm building a world where the main enimies will be goblins(of varied levels) and the wildlife, so anyone advice on how to make animals/insects challanging as the crew levels up would help out.

That would be tough because Dire is a template for Animals and Insects. Now, a fiendish giant is feasable. Or, as I am doing in my PnP game, a Fiendish Half-Illithid Fire Giant is a possibility.

Oh I will craft the Dire butterfly one day... my current DMish person keeps shooting me down on it because apparently using the word "dire" should - in his eyes - "only be applied to vicious prehistoric creatures like sharks etc. There was no such thing as a prehistoric butterfly!"... I don't buy it.
