Unhappy Blue screen of death .. PLEASE HELP !

I've been having problems with my computer for the past week or so.. I've replaced my hard drive, along with my video card.. due to getting the blue screen of death.. now I seem to be able to surf the net ok, but when i try to enjoy a game of ddo.. I get the blue screen of death.. I'm currently running Windows XP.. I can only seem to stay in the game for about 5-10 mins.. please.. if anyone has had this problem, or can tell me how to correct this , it would be a great help ! thank you !!

Would be my guess. Might try http://www.Memtest86.com. Been useful in the past for searching out memory problems. At least it's one thing to check off the list of possible problems should it pass at any rate. Hope it helps you some. I'm off to return to beating my head against the desk until DDO just up and starts working... because I'm out of ideas at this point.

You're supposed to be on vacation, get out of here and enjoy real life Asia.

Still got the Blue Screen huh? Will reread what you had done so far to try to fix this. Take care Beautiful, see you when the vacation is over.

From the vague way you are describing it, bad memory or your CPU/Fan or Motherboard. Wouldn't be the Powersupply because you'd lock up more than you bluescreened. If the CPU was damaged and overheating (especially if the fan has died), you'd probably lock up once and a while, in addition to bluescreen - generally not too long after login. Motherboard you can never tell with, but you are screwed if that goes anyway.

Just pop her open and cycle each of your memory sticks to rule that out. If memory isn't the problem, you probably need a new PC anyway. (You could always reset/flash the BIOS too I guess, it's possible settings and incompatibilty in there could cause problems...but it wouldn't explain your initial issues, so it's probably irrelevant).

You could always post your blue screen error message, that would help.

    OK two assumptions:

You have Windows Vista and it is the physical memory dump blue screen you are referring to.

I started having these physical memory dump problems in February for seemingly no apparent reason. I heard that Vista service pack 1 was due to come out in Feb so I thought it was that. I went to the Windows update website a couple weeks ago and discovered that service pack 1 had NOT been installed on my computer. I guess that's because you need to "approve" its installation and therefore cannot do a auto-install. After downloading and installing the service pack (took 2 hours total and I got Cable modem ) I have not had the blue screen again.

    Hope this helps.
