Today's Headache

My craptastic garbage trying to get DDO running on a new laptop. Hoping someone has maybe seen this before and knows what this madness wants from me. Had to do the install via digital download as kids and installation discs don't seem to cope well together.

Launcher Error:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Have you installed .net 1.1 and it's service pack?

Installed, security update, remove, rinse repeat until I was satisfied that probably wasn't the problem.
