Default Can I mute just 1 player's voice in my group?

I am playing DDO with my wife and some friends, but the wife and I sit right next to each other in the same room, and hearing her voice twice is just unnecessary. Can i mute just her voice in the in-game voice chat?

Yes! /squelch add (First name of character)

It will not even register that they are talking. Don't ask me how I know... :P

I have on occasion used this for really chatty people when I am already annoyed and want to avoid infractions. Then /squelch remove (Name) after out of party.

If you squelch her, be aware that you will not be able to get invited to a group by her (though you can invite her), you will also not see any of her typed chat, and possibly cannot recieve mail from her.

Well, you are in the same room... Couldn't some duct tape do the trick?

For me and my significant other, I wear headphones. She actually has to raise her voice a fair amount for me to hear her OUTSIDE the game. Kinda sad, that she's talking to me with voice chat from about six feet away from me, but... There it goes.

I second the headsets idea. Squelching will work if you always play in the same group, but if you are ever playing in different groups, you need to be able to tune the other person out. Of course, I've developed the ability to tune my wife out even without a headset. But wearing the headset lowers the number of smacks to the back of the head I get when she realizes I'm not listening to her

I find it hard to dodge wife-propelled-flying-objects when i have the headset on, so i usually keep one ear free to avoid the -4 to reflex save.
