Pally Love? How about Freedom of Movement

I was looking through the Players Handbook to get a better grasp on Monks when I decided to glance at the Pally spell list.

And realized that Freedom of Movement is a standard Level 4 Pally spell.

Why isn't it included in DDO? It would actually be a somewhat useful spell - certainly more than Deathward given that almost all high level clerics cast Mass Deathward these days.

So, since Pallies have been promised some love this would seem to be pretty much a no brainer. And it's not like it would take any development time. Just add it to the list.

Now I am going to have to read the PHB, if indeed it is on the Paladins spell list why don't we have this????

I'm looking in the Players Handbook - Core Rulebook I, page 167.

The following are listed as Level 4 Paladin Spells:

Cure Serious Wounds
Death Ward
Dispel Evil
Freedom of Movement
Holy Sword
Neutralize Poison

May need to update that player handbook to 3.5. Paladins got Freedom of Movement in 3.0 but not in 3.5.

Also, page 167 in the 3.5 handbook talks about breaking items, marching order, and treasure rules.

Take a look. Page 167 (the 2000 edition).

The 3.5 rules came out around 2003 I believe and DDO uses those rules.

On the other hand, if there's a general feeling that the paladin level 4 spell list is lacking, and it was once a paladin spell in some version of D&D, and the spell already exists in the game anyway....why not give it to them?

Because WotC won't like it? Not saying it's a good reason, but it's the reason.
