Why doesn't Righteousness count as good aligned for bypassing DR?

The description for righteousness says the weapon's imbued with holy power.

It only works against evil aligned mobs.

Wouldn't it make sense that it should count as good aligned for bypassing DR? So on the pit fiend, when you need a good aligned silver weapon, a righteousness silver weapon should bypass the DR.

Don't know why it wouldn't count as good aligned. Is this just something overlooked by the devs?

Its more of a strength-of-conviction bonus, rather than a goody-two-shoes-lovey-dovey-hippy bonus.

The latter is about being good. The first is about hating evil, which is not necessarily good.

Righteousness in PnP doesn't count as Good aligned either. The DDO devs were just following the rulebook.

Note that they already made Righteous a lot better than PnP, by allowing it to function against any evil target, instead of merely undead, outsiders, and divine casters.
