My favorite one is when a buddy of mine recounted the story of how as a mage, the group of mids were standing on a ledge and he says 'I will cast featherfall, group on me.' They do, and he casts haste by mistake... Not one single survivor, there probably could have been, but they were laughing too hard to do anything...

doin the reaver raid for my first time. the caster popped acid cloud on the giant while he was aggro'less. yeah. he got aggro'd. the mighty tank saved him though. he meant to cast the disco ball, but he changed his hotbars around previously, and forgot to change them back.

k... don't think there's a caster out there who hasn't seen the mob approach, cast dancing ball, but by the time it actually shows up the party has already wiped out the entire mob. so the sequence is, you wave your arms in silly - slo - motion as your team slices and dices the mob to shreds and everyone stops to get ready to move on when Boom! Disco Time!



For the longest time I had a weapon slot in one spot and then switched it to smite evil. I'm fighting an arcane and switch from the banishing BS to my disrupter. Why does it keep saying immune? Why am I not switching weapons!?!! then i look and see the countdown on the spot and i have 0 smite evils left and i just wasted them because my disrupter is one spot away. that's when i started being more consistent in my hot bars.

How about doing POP with a capped sorc, buffing up, zerging ahead, and dying after 2 mobs because you fail a poison save.

Upon inspecting equipment you notice your +6 con necklace swapped out for the +13 haggle one.

Oh and the proof against poison ring swapped for a rez ring.

Opening the mic to explain your noobness to the PUG you instead decide to shut your mouth whilst still somewhat ahead, take the rez and play CC caster for the rest of the quest....

Did something similar last night.

I was one of 2 clerics in BAM elite (with one guildmate, the rest pugs). I tell my guildmate "lets show these guys who Archmagi clear this hall" and I run off with a haste. This is the hallway to the room with the shrine and the elementals btw.

So I run past every single mob, get close to the end and start laying down bladebarriers. I get my second one down and die to a slay living (forgot deathward... doh). So the others start casting charms, and facinates, and so on, and barely make it out alive. I played more carefully later hehe.

When VON raid series was first released, I ran the whole thing with a guild group, taking 6 hours to figure everything out. Get part 4 done, and realized I never advanced the quest past part 2. Luckily, I wasn't the only one who forgot .

So we run VON 1-4 again with some of the guild members who wanted to see how it was done...and guess who forgot to advance from von 3 after being haggled for it the first time...me.

It's been a while, but when lvl 12 was the cap and the Dragon was still the "thing to do" we had just gotten the pillars down and everybody took their obligitory "one step forward" so as to not aggro Velah.

All of a sudden the barrier jumps up and every last one of us was staring at our collective gathering of soulstones like a fresh batch of rock candy.

The assorted quizzitive sounds were uttered in voice chat, and a few moments later the ranger pipes up and says... "Oops. Autoattack. Sorry guys."

Needless to say he had hit autoattack to take down his pillar, and never took it off without realizing that the next mob he encountered was merely a fiery breath away from a complete and total party wipe.

He was added to my "friends" list.

Not a wipe, but did force one of the casters kill himself and made a Reaver run a bit harder to finish.

Everyone was in except the caster who had recalled for mana. I was just screwing around throwing daggers. Whoops, I think I hit the Reaver. Force field came down and everyone screams, "***, Why is the Reaver attacking?"

We recovered well and the casters was able to kill himself with the Air elementals, so it all worked out.

A long time back I had a guild member that was looking for a feather fall item. "I have an extra pair of FF boots." I traded them to him and he ran off to do a quest.
About an hour or so later a flurry of guild chat ensued about me passing out "Boots of hammer fall" (patent pending). Seems he had equiped the boots without looking at them and promply fell to his death while jumping from a cliff.
Oppseee...... Don't trust a dwarf with and 8 int.

Well a LONG time ago in a VON 6 run with a not so ideal Party I was on my evasion Tank and therefore going to drag Mobs to Home Plate, and as I play with no MIC I had to type out the warnings and procedures; To make a long story short we had just zoned and as I was typing starting instructions....someone pops a trade window to show me a weapon they wanted to use on Velah, etc.... and I go running off the edge, face first on my way to Stormreach.

At the time I was ****ed, but the more I think about it...the funnier it seems.

Needless to say I was the only experiened Pillar-Runner and things got ugly.

The Moral of the story: Brag on your gear when there´s no cliff´s around!

Doing a reaver run and it ws a good run somebody got fly and went down the west tunnel to pull the switch, He said he pulled it and he started to come out and died on the way out.

Well the reaver died fairly quick we start to go up the stairs and then we realize, dam I guess we are going to have to do this over, the barrier is still up. From what I could understand is that the person who was pulling the switch started to pull it and he was in to much of a hurry to get back out and he did not realize he did not finish pulling the switch.


I see more of the "what were they thinking" moments in the reaver then any other quest. The Shroud is starting to get more thse types of moments

Doing a shroud run on my bard, and we are almost done , some people wanted to leave and not complete so trying to be helpful I cast DD.
With the mob boss targeted !!!!

The other day I did a Devils run on my Sorc, and waiting at the end bosses door for my team to finally enter after wiping on the way to the entrance, I mistakenly told them it was clear.

They hopped up the ramp into a group of aggro and 3 or 4 more deaths.

I had to run back and explain how I meant clear as in I had jumped up and gotten the levers.

Oops.

One of my favorites was a fairly recent dragon raid. Everyone is about to take the step forward and one of the casters is running down the buff list. I see the freedom of movment symbol pop over my head as everyone else in the party except for one cleric falls down and slides right off the bridge. After everyone got done laughing some one asked what had happened and the poor caster piped in over voice "stupid grease spell".

While some preliminary buffs are being cast the party leader inexplicably runs off the ledge at start.
*long pause* (I’m laughing my head off)
Leader informs party that we was in the midst of typing "autorun off" when he realized that his R key was designated for that function.
(I'm laughing harder)

Titan.
Perhaps it isn’t such a good tactic to solo the mind flayer at end while the rest of the party is getting their loot.
I lasted a total of 10 seconds against the Titan with my trusty dagger of smiting.
“Pen, you know you can’t smite him.”
“Yea. I know.”
(laughing, but apologetic)

Don't use mailbox as bank...
Guildie attempted to store a +5 mith fullplate acid guard that way (she checked her mail, but never picked it up.)

Its probably not the only dumb thing I keep doing, but I seem to have this continual problem when I /death to Meridia and switch my heath belt with my coin belt before healing myself.

Even though it doesnt really effect me, I look like a smuck everytime I do it!

I was running Titan a month or so ago with a bunch of friends, we were at the mindflayer, and for some reason the whole party cept me and Keensly went to get the chests--I was joking around and said, "Me and Keensly are going to solo this guy, oooo he's so tough" And then I talked to him. . .which of course locked everyone out and we had to do part 5 over lol. Which worked out because 2 other people wanted to join up with us.

Plenty more follies here. .. .Like going back in Spiders to kill the last few ogres for other chest. . .and killing a spider, to which party member watching the chest informs me that the lovely spider chest has disappeared.

A couple of nights ago a group of guildmates and I ran the relic quest for house D, so we get down to the underground mine and was doing alright thought being short maned by one. Our cleric throws up a blade barrier while were fighting the Duegars and Blackguards and we wipe. So licking out wounds we get healed up and a Pally from our guild signs on giving us our six. I get booted when I log back on I see half the party is dead again. Seems our fearless leader the cleric lead the guys back in and fell into the lava. He said follow me in which they do into the lava lol. So they get rezzed and I come in stealth a few mins later I fall into the same lava pool. We were a real group of Genuises that night lol.

The infamous "Boots of Hammer Fall"...might make it clearer to point out those were FF clickie boots. We were laughing so hard it took us a while to regroup. I have been known to unwittingly wear those boots on occasion

While waiting to run the Reaver, a few of us were inside waiting for the rest of the group to come into the quest. We're all just talking and killing time. I decide to type something. I didn't have the chat window active and typed something with an "R". Next thing I know, the giant is coming at me with only a handful of people in the quest.

Consequently, I no longer have "R" set to auto-run.
