    Question i need advice please

did i gimp my character? i wasnt thinking when i made him....for some reason when i made him, i thought chaotic nuetral would be able to use ALL weapons....(nuetral...in the middle....). i cant use pure good. now, here is where i need the advice...i always thought of holy burst of pure good to be the biggest dps out there. am i wrong? what weapons are comparable?? i wish i had thought of asking this question 9 lvls ago. ive been compensating for the pg'lessness by using maiming. +x (elemental) burst of maiming. the +1 holy burst of maiming that i picked up is going to be my main for a bit, i think. unless i re-roll. so. to get back to the point. did i shoot my barb in the foot when i made him?

I actually made my barbarian true neutral. I though I shot myself in the foot as well. Now, at level 16, I am not as concerned with what alignment I am. My main weapons are my +5 acidburst greatsword (greensteel), my Cloudburst, and different greater bane weapons. Yea, you take pg out of the picture, but there are so many to choose from out there, that pg isn't a deal breaker.

Also, if you are still low enough level you might be able to get enough UMD to bypass that restriction with a friendly GH, a UMD item and maybe a friendly bard.

Greater bane is pretty mighty too, though admittedly tiresome to swap especially when fighting mixed mobs.

It's less of a big deal now, with the Shroud weapons (and true resurrection clicky) that don't require you to be good-aligned. So I would really not re-roll for it (the immunity to unholy damage can be useful too).

i dont think there is ANY chance of me gettin enough umd to EVER bypass any restricton. cha was my dump stat. 6. boooo. kind of like the old dnd quote. "half orc barbarian. cuz who needs charisma." with my 16 pali with a cha of 27 i just managed to end up with 19.5 umd. with the golden cartouche (thingy....) so if SHES .5 off, and ive been puttin ranks into it, i cant see my barb gettin there either....

There are optons though. Most resricted items,
will required a UMD of around 20 which is not impossible to get.

You can also look into the stability items which REQUIRE you to be Neutral.

Any of your elemntal Burst items are well within you grasp as well...
as are the Paralizers, banishers, Vorpals, etc.

You may have chose a different career path, but No you did not Gimp your character.

Stability is an attribute that gives a stackable AC bonus and (I think) a resistance bonus to saves. It can only be utilized by characters with a true neutral alignment though so you are out of luck. Does not affect balance specifically and non-true neutral chracted can use a stbility item but will not get the benefit of the stability.

way to get my hopes up and squish em. SQUISH EM LIKE A GRAPE!!!! lol. ok...one more ? here....i have a dex of 12. am i going to miss out on greater 2 handed fighting? you need 17 to get it...or is a +5 dex item going to help? and if so, how does that work? i lose the feat when i unequip the item? im not thinkin it will work, for the same reason that having a + item to your int stat doesnt give you more skill points at lvl up. if not, am i going to miss gthf in the long run? ithf is nice, as my glancing blows do about 15-30 a pop right now......its'a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Well greater two handed fighting requires a 17 str (before items or enhancements, if its not permanent then it doesn't count) so you are probably fine (If your barb doesn't have 17 str naked you porbably should reroll and I normally never recommend that).

If you mean greater two weapon fighting, however, (which does require 17 dex) then you are hosed until you get a +5 tome and it will be quite a while til we see those I would guess.

my dwarf ranger/fighter with a 6 cha+2 tome+6cloak hits a 31 UMD so you should be able to hit a 26 since you dont have a skill boost. could also add 2 rogue for UMD and evasion at 15 and 16 but thats a whole different topic.

    9.5 ranks
    +2 charisma
    +5 command
    +4 GH
    +5 skill boost
    +6 shroud item
    +2 head of good fortune

    33 Self Buffed

Minus 5 for skill boost for you for a 28

2 Rogue Levels would look like this

    19.5 Ranks
    +5 item
    +4 GH
    +2 CHA Modifier
    +5/2 human versatility/rogue boost
    +6 shroud goggles
    +2 head of good fortune

    total 43/40 UMD
