How many character slots do we get?

I have 1750 favor and am able to make 32 point builds. I understood that we should get 9 slots. Is that no longer the case? I wanted to try a new build so I bit the bullet and deleted a high lvl character. Now with 8 characters I don't have the option to create a new one. So far I've tried restarting the game about 10 times, logging in/out several toons, exiting the game from inside a login and launching the game from a 2nd computer. Are we only allowed 8? I don't want to delete anymore or buy another account....

You should have 9 if you have 1750 favor, you start with 8 and get your 9th with your drow unlock. Of course some people have 18 characters but that is a discussion for another topic.

Logging out/in should have fix the issue, if not you might want to try this: log back on your 1750 favor guy and go back in the harbor to talk with Nyx again (the Drow giving you the +2 tome of your choice). Log out and it should then be possible to create your 9th toon.

Thx for the great ideas, if it happens again I'll try that Bloodyfury. The solution for me was to wait 5 hours.

if you can only have 9 toons(with drow)then why do some people have 18?
is it beceause the have 2 acounts?

No, not two accounts.

A long time ago, well before the servers merged, there was a little bug that created a new character slot on your account for *every* character you pushed to 1750+ favor. That's one way. And, those lucky sods got to keep their extra slots, too, so they can re-roll without losing the slots.

The more likely scenario is also related to the server merge. If you were industrious, you could create up to nine characters on each of the three servers that were merged together to create one new, better populated server, giving you the possibility of having up to 27 characters. The only problem with this, though, is that if you wanted to build a new character after the merge, you had to delete the extras until you were back down to the point where you'd *naturally* be able to create a new one.

I just unlocked 1750 on my 2nd account. I have 8 characters and no option to create a new one. I've talked to Nyx - he hopes I have a nice day. I've logged out of this account - logged back in and closed the client - all to no avail - still only 8 character slots. Should I bug report it?

Did you actually pick up your +2 favor tome? (not sure is that matters, but it might be like completing a quest). If all that fails, then bug reportting seems reasonable to me.
