    Default Evasion/UMD Barb

I'm toying with creating a WF THF barb and I was thinking about a 14barb/2rogue.

It's going to cost me a few hit points, +1bab, mighty rage@L20, and 1 rage@L16.

I don't plan to keep up rogue skills, I'm looking to the Rogue for evasion and the extra UMD. So basically what I gain is evasion and the ability to UMD the race restricted stuff which might put a few more pieces of interesting equipment in my hands. Theoretically I also get some sneak damage but if I'm doing my job I'll only get that on the first swing at best so it doesn't count for much It will also let me wand whip a bit since we know how much people like healing WF

So good idea or am I nuts?

Human gives you 1 more feat and 1 more skill point.

WF gives you rages without fatigue, immunity to hold/poison/disease.

there are some cool things about wf barbs. the immunities, no fatigue etc. they hit like a ton of bricks and draw lots of agro....and are hard as hell to heal. heal scrolls hit for less than 100 unless you have healer's friend. UMD is nice, but dont expect to wandwhip yourself with 500+ hp's. take you an hour to fill up :P but i guess it helps to top yourself off. so there are pros and cons. up to you what u want to play.

this build will more than wand whip if done right.... try reconstruct.... and its a great idea Lorien
High Int and Rogue at level one are only neccasary for trap skills. UMD can be maxed and so can balance almost with me points left over.

It'll work. Use the Character builder to get a look at what you are going to end up with, and think about how you want to spread the levels out. I suggest a 10 int at least. That way you can stick a UMD point in at every level and still max Intimidate and 1 other skill. You can also use that second Rogue level to get a 4th skill to a respectable level (possibly balance or Repair... I'm thinking Balance)

    I have a human Barb 11, rogue 3, fighter 2

Just last night I was able to rogue all the stuff on elite in one of the desert pre req quests and at one point used raise dead scrolls on 3 party members ( Including the cleric). So ya I think a splash of rogue for evasion and skills is great, make sure you take rogue at level 1 !

I have this build got him to lvl 16 last week

    went 14/2 barb/ rogue WF

    2 weapon fighter (the shroud kosphes + 5 1d10 X 3 w/ a 15-20 crit range while raged)

I like him, damage out out is very nice, I need to get the reflex save up a bit (he walks around w/ a 23 dex) so I grinding for a eye and a +3 dex tome for reaver , that and a +6 dex item would give hem a 26 dex and 7 more to his reflex than what he has now which is a unbuffed a 17 I think.... don't seem to get hot by spells much traps still kick my but ....biggest think I have is I wish I had more hp (currently only has 464 while doulbled raged no madstone boots yet) I also want power attack (took toughness at lvl 3 feat, the rest were 2 weapon fighting chains) 17-18 might go fighter not sure....very fun build to play being a WF make you immune to a whole lot, w/ the swords form the shroud you do great amazing damage....once I get the few more pieces of gear I need I think he's going to shape up nicely

    Hey lorien

I put togeather a build a little whiles ago - link below. (note havnt updated changes made with in game learning - il do what i can soon.

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=131049

Hes lvl 13 atm and was hella fun lvling up. The evasion is sick and so is all the wonderful scroll usage. My findings in playing were mixed. Ina high dps zerging party u rarely use full umd potential as everything is dead. In a slower moving pug its fantastic being able to take care of yourself. Mainly because of the environment i play in i stopped playin him and lvled up a 2wf 2ftr 14barb wf with max PA enhancemnts etc. The self sufficiency is wonderful with the rog split but if you find urself more often thannot in great guild grps then i think you get more optimisationvia slightly higher dps and less time away from swinging going pure non umd beat down styles. I plan on lvling both up as the 2 rog is very very fun to play just not max dps although close.Id suggest going human as well for the rog split as the enhancemnents and mechanincs provide better synergy than the wf. for 2 ftr/14 barb i love the wf. All those PA enhancements make for a lower too hit but you hit like a mac truck.
