    Thumbs up Occams Razor

I definitely agree that leading is a a two edged sword. You get the glory, or you get the blame, even when you explained 5 times how it should be done, and they somehow get it wrong, and admit that they screwed up, you still feel the blame. At least I do.

I actually have toons that tend to lead and toons that tend to follow.

    Dog, he follows.
    Cat, he leads.

Dog being a cleric and cat being my sorc. I find it hard to follow when playing my sorc, unless i am completely unfamiliar with the run, THEN I ask many many questions and sound like a newb till i have a good idea of whats expected of my role, then i try to make it better, or more efficient.

Dog should have a minimize stupidity skill, all clerics should. In this day an age clericing(in pugs mostly) can be costly and often a cleric is the voice of reason, or should be. "hey, i dont think you wanna do that yet" immediately followed by "rez, incoming"....I know alot of PUGers dont donate to the cleric, cept those in the know, or those who run clerics. I take it as a positive sign when i get donated to.

Although this turned out to be a decent thread, my next one will address the meat of the issue.

I donate a lot, but mostly to clerics that don't ask for it. It's not surprising to have Altonn or Adonde hand over a stack of scrolls to a party cleric.

It's not what you say but how you say it. I've run with you quite a few times, (reavers mostly) and Let me prefface this by saying most of the time your edicts are correct. The issue is you can be quite sure that yours is the only way and you often take a my way or the high way stance. Personally I have a thick skin and could really care less. If I joined your group it's your perogative and I follow. Granted I like to think I'm pretty mellow, but it irks me from time to time to have "the law" laid down constantly. Might I suggest a toned down approach? If it's not gonna cause a party wipe or undue resources, why cause a scene? Let people play the way they like. It's a game and supposed to be fun, but when people talk down to others it ceases being fun. If that guy was a sorc and was fod/pking the whole dungeon...let him. He's got the mana for it. Once again guy this isn't a barb throwing post just giving you some food for thought.
...the eyes of a ghastly white vampire stare back at you...his fangs gleam in the light from your torches and lanterns...In your heart, you know that most who have seen this face never lived to see another

This kinda sounds like when I ransack POP. I usually run it 5-8 times in a row in one day and usually have to swap out 3-7 people in total, as some just love sticking around because of how quick it goes. I've had plenty of complaints about how I run it, as I do not do 4 things:

    1) I don't check the scroll, I tell everyone as I'm going in and they join I don't check it.

    2) I don't run back to get the key, once again, I tell everyone I don't do it.

    3) I don't start at the bottom, I start at the Beholder (Web works friggin wonders...).

I see no reason in starting in the Marut room when it holds the crappy "Death's Locket" and then the next room up holds "Charush's Inferno" and then we finally get to the Ring of the Djinn (Which is useful). At least the 4 rooms of the Beholder, DQ, Ice, and Vamp have a 3:1 ratio of good loot. If we skip the DQ then we can do the Beholder, Ice, Vamp, and Air room then you get a chance at all of the good named loot.

    4) I DO NOT COME BACK TO RAISE DEAD PEOPLE. I tell people that I grab 3 groups of mobs and FW them as it maximizes the saving of SP. I've had people run up to try and help me but end up dying and all I do is throw 1 of my 2 clickies to them. If they die two more times, they have to wait till someone who can raise gets there.

I've had people who don't like this way I run it, but the majority LOVE it. We get it done in 10-20 minutes depending on how many rooms we have to do. But Ive had to put up with the same amount of **** for how I run it.

Turbine, you can hire more developers for the game. We operate on a giant Theocracy of Debt, so go all out finding developers for the best MMO out there

    Clerics of Fernia

Well from what I've seen, the mobs have too much of a tendency to get stuck walking up the rock piles and then getting pinned there, so grabbing 3 makes it easier to kite them around the obstacles...

Unless someone is being harsh in their presentation, it's hard to say anyone here is wrong because there are, in general, so many ways to run your own toon. What I try to do weather I lead a group (not often), or join a pug or guild group (w/ ppl I don't generally party w/ alot), is make sure everyone knows ahead of time what is expected. Communication BEFORE the quests starts should cut down on the majority of complaints. Example, my cleric is not a battle cleric in any way, and I make it clear when I join a group, w/ whatever I have i.e. rogue, cleric what they can expect of me BASED on my toons abilities. If it's not a good fit, and here and there it's not, it's resolved BEFORE the quest ever starts.

So in all aspects of the game, where your not solo'ing (though I've been known to talk to myself ), communication is key to help prevent these kinds of mixed expectations of how the quest will go.

    Happy hunting all.
Of course I can be in here, the door was clearly unlocked, and yes, I always dress in black and put shoe polish on my face.
