    Default Need headset recommendations

I had a great $6 headset. Used it for the last 2 years but my cats ate thru one of the wires and no longer works. I cant find anything thatworks with DDO. I bought a Gigaware headset sounds good mic dont work in game. I have had the same problem with plantronics. Tried to use a desktop mic by Jensen that didn't work either.

Any brand that works if someone could give me a heads up would be appreciated. I miss my voice chat. I saw in Best Buy yesterday headsets that just say Designed by Gamers for GAmers do these work I would really hate to spend $50 and have to return it to the store.

Any help in this matter would be great

    Thanks

Hmmm... As a general rule, if you can get the microphone and headphones to work for Windows, you can get them to work for DDO. What OS are you using? I've seen some people have funny issues with voicechat there.

For me, I used to end up having to reselect my microphone in game. I'd logout, log back in, and I could hear people but couldn't talk back to them. Next time you log in, take a look at your game settings, and make sure that your microphone/headset is selected for voice playback.

I've also ended up switching from a plug-in headset, to a usb headset... My onboard sound card quit working properly a while back.

I play a "few" to say the least online games MMORPG, FPS,etc... and ive had a lot of headset... the best one Ive ever used in the Microsoft Livechat Lx-3000, its USB and works fine everytime... that is until my chair rolled over it, but I got a newone... I dont know if you have a office depot in your area, but they are like $35 from officedepot, and in the current special offer sheet, there is a $10 coupon for any purchase over $25.

I have one made by plantronics that works well. It uses 1/8" plugs and was about $25 at best buy. It took a little getting used to wear comfortably, but the sound quality & microphone quality are good. If you're really interested in cheap, I'd take a look at tiger direct & new egg.
