    Default help with favor

am new to the game, this account has only been activated for 2 days, and I played 2 days before that on the 10 day trial, and 2 years or so before that on the preorder head start.

don't really know what I'm doign but I really like playing rogues, and after lookin at things I want to make a drow rogue. don;t really want to waist time with a rogue of another race only to start again once I unlock drow.

so I'm lookin for some help gettin the favor as fast as I can so I can get back to the fun of playing a class I love before I start geting burnt out on a class I don't. I normaly miss the prime time crowd on games I play, my play time is around 6 or 6:30PM to 9-10 PM est.would like do get the rogue started asap. if anyone willing to help me out with this I'll return the favor somehow.

    Wink Welcome back

A character name to look for would help a bunch here. If you are just lookin to get to "drow" favor and any class will do to get you there.... I might suggest a Bard.. will find loot close to rogue gear ( if not rogue gear) and if you invest in the haggle skill ( and maybe find a haggle item) you will have no problems with Plat.

I had not thought of that. I threw a fighter together thinking it be easier to farm favor on the fighter. guys name is Kanev if anyone sees me come on and is willin to help feel free to send me a tell. got just over 100 favor so only 300 more to go

    Default go cleric

a group will always accept a cleric at the minimum of the lvl range of the group... but not always the other classes.

Go clr... even a battle cleric will get you farther... you can at least solo favor when there is nothing goin on.

well heres a stupid question. how exactly do you get favor? someone on another server told me he would run me thru elietes and get me drow in a night or two but I made some friends on this server and don't really want to leave them.

if ya get favor by runnign elites I don;t think I'd have a chance of doing it solo not with out spending a good bit of time leveling up the char I don't like. I might make a cleric at some point. but I'm already 1/4 of the way there now, and that took 2 days. will it really pay to start over on another lowbie char?

Favor is gained by running quests. Each level of the quest (solo, normal, hard and elite) will give a different amount of favor, they do not stack, they replace. SO to get maximum favor you need to run elite runs. IF all you are interested in is Favor you can always hook up with a few high level guys running favor runs and stay in the back. You will get zero XP but all the favor.

Other than that, just get a group and run the quests. IF I see you on when I have a lowbie I will be happy to invite you to run some quests (and try to do ones you do not have).

I have characters in all ranges - look me up and I'll be happy to do some favor runs with you. Its the latter half of the week and as such I'm only on in the mornings (eastern time).

You can always look for groups that are doing favor runs, or start you own. You can see what you need by clicking on the quest compendium in your menu bar - you can then sort by level or quest name or favor earned. The 2nd tab shows how much favor by House or Faction. The bottom one is Drow and shows your overall favor standing.

    Hope this helps.

Wink Doesn't take long to get 400 favor

Hopefully by the time you get back to the post you'll have your favor. Could easily get it by having a high level buddy run some elite stuff for you until you get your cleric. 2 days and 1/4 way there. Casual player? I can usually get a toon to level 3 in a Sat Afternoon and 6 by Sunday (lypsync for example) So running an afternoon with a high level toon would get you your favor in no time. Finding a party to run with during the day might be difficult. We tend to be on in the late afternoon/evenings EST. GL with the favor and your Drow Rogue (or which ever class you roll).

ah well... I think my best bet at this point is waiting for the weekend. I feel odd starting groups when I have no clue, but I guess I could start one with the note that I'm lookin for people to help me earn favor. but aye at my play time there normaly only a few groups goign that I can get in, and some of those the people just didn't feel like liminting the levels. be 1-16 and I send a tell to ask and they tell me I'm to low a level to even pick up the quest. well I'm looking for a fairly fun char to play while I look for favor groups, am not really liking the melee tank route. are cleric or wizards ok with out that 32 pt build thingy? sorc seams to fit drow better too

you can be any level and enter any quest (not raids) and get the favor.

non 32 pt builds can be almost as effective for most classes except the specialty multi class builds (like a batman) My main cleric is still a 28 pt build. There are many elite players that still have 28 pt builds that they play regularly.

yea I'm not lookin for multiclass specality builds just yet. like my rogue I want to be a pure rogue, and I'm leaning more and more twoard repeaters, so maybe I splash a level or two of fighter for the extra feats. I know more dammage come from melee and twf, but I suck at melee lol. I must see 10-15 misses for every red number I see. and my attack bonus is +9. one thing that is good about taking time to try and grind abit of favor, is I got to see how I liked being a melee char.

Although there may be differing opinons on this, I think the 28 pt build works just fine for most builds. The only time it makes a HUGE difference is doing a multi-class build or a Rogue IMO. Wizards, Sorcerers and Rogues really benefit from unlocking Drow, but a Drow doesn't do all that much for a Cleric. There is a whole other thread on people that still rock their 28 pt builds and do a great job with them.

    Good luck!
