I think I already know the answer to be yes to both, but I want verification before i do or buy anything.

1. Does Potency work as effectively as devotion for divine spells. EG Superior Pot 6 =Superior Dev 6? If so what's the point of devotion?

2. Does life magic enhancements stack with Devotion/Potency Items.

When you're all done laughing, please let me know. PS any little known tip to give a little extra divine edge is appreciated too.

As for part two of why?


All subspecialities like Devotion, Combustion, etc, can be obtained at lower character level for the same benefit. Potency covers ALL spells, so if you have simialr items of the same spell range and intensity (Greater, Superior, normal, etc) all you need to carry is the Potency Item.

However, consider this example, some can have a Superior Pot VI item and a Superior Devotion VII item. When casting any spell up thru level 6 the Superior Pot item rules, while when casting any 7 th level spells for healing, the Sup Dev VII item would finally kick in.

My cleric has a Sup Pot VI Dagger she wields one a quest gets going (and she offloads the Mace of the Magi). She is also wearing the Belt of Seven Ideals (or something like that) that gives Spell Pen VII and Potency VII (just a 30% boost not a 50% like Superior would give). (also has on Eternal Guantlets as well, but not sure that matters outside of crits on healing much with her other gear).

Appreciate the responses. I spent 16 levels not asking a single question, and now I'm starting to learn stuff. People thought I
was a good healer before, wait till I fix everything!
