It does sound like guild housing will eventually become a reality. The thing is we have no space for guild housing in game, hence I have a suggestion for the next live event.
The next live event we should do should be to create a new warded area for the creation of an area for guild housing. This could involve all types of characters fighting off monsters attacking the heroes of stormreach for expanding stormreach. Others can assist in the crafting of the wards. Others even could be involved in the holding of the walls (and constructing of them) with the culmination being a new city zone where the guild houses are.
The beauty of this is there can be a transport from some of the space where the tent was. Also another thing is a statue to Gary Gygax can be placed where the tent was now also. In the middle of the marketplace, a position of prominence.

This is an instanced game, they have unlimited space. You all just go to the same door to get into your guild. My understanding is in SWG that's how you borded your individual spaceships.
